A Top-Tier Alpha, Yet Forced Into a Possessive Romance

When Percy was twelve, her omega mother chose to take her own life on a silent, rainy night.

It was because she had fallen in love with an alpha of unknown origins, whose pheromones were a 100% match for hers.

It was as if Cupid had shot her through the heart. Even though she had married another alpha and had his child, even though her furious husband had bitten her gland to shreds and locked her away in a dark, lightless room, nothing could change it.

This cursed mutual attraction lasted six months. Her mother was unfaithful for six months, driving her already domineering and paranoid father to madness.

A few months later, her father appeared before Percy's mother, carrying the alpha's head.

Blood dripped from the severed head. After that alpha died, Percy's mother chose to kill herself, leaving behind her young daughter and her older sister.

Percy hated alphas, and she hated omegas. If she ever chose someone to spend the rest of her life with, that person would have to be a beta.

"Percy, do you know what love is?"

"He and I are what love is." Her mother gave a weak smile.

"It wasn't until I met him that I understood what love meant."

"This isn't love... It's just an illusion brought on by pheromones..." Percy refused to believe it, refused to accept that her mother had abandoned their family for a strange alpha.

"You'll understand when you meet the one fate has chosen for you."

"You'll understand your mother."
