But as a wandering spirit, he watches Xu Li search for him like a madman for three days and nights. Covered in mud, Xu Li runs into the back mountain, gathers Xiao Lie's broken remains, and struggles down the mountain.

The mountain wilderness is pitch-black. The man falls, and blood flows beneath him.

The child is gone. Drawn by the smell of blood, a pack of wolves approaches. Holding Xiao Lie, Xu Li speaks for the first time, his voice hoarse.

"Don't... hate me... Don't leave... leave me alone."

Holding Xiao Lie's remains, Xu Li gives up his chance to escape.
