My Father-in-Law Is Ye Gong (Imperial Examinations)

Pan Ruowang woke up to find himself back in the days when he had left home and was living in the capital with the family of his future father-in-law, Ye.

At that time, he was still young and knew nothing. He cared only about making a name for himself, and was so oblivious to his fiancee Ye Xiaotong's attentions that he responded like a block of wood.

But now he had a chance to be more attentive and become a good husband in Xiaotong's eyes, and a good son-in-law in her father's!

There was another advantage: he had served as an official in the Ministry of Justice for years and read countless case files, so he knew who had committed many of the crimes!

But right now, he was just a scholar with no authority to solve cases. All he could do was drop hints to his father-in-law through various seemingly coincidental clues.

Before long, his father-in-law had become the capital's "Judge Bao," solving cases with uncanny brilliance.

Though "The Casebook of Judge Ye" does sound a little odd as a title!
