In his previous life, Ji Xingbang was born into a farming family and struggled tremendously on the imperial examination path. To keep up with his classmates, he had to work twice as hard and make up for his lack of talent with diligence. Fortunately, after ten years of grinding through past exam papers and memorizing everything by rote, he finally passed the examinations as a third-ranked successful candidate. He also married Shi Hanxue, the younger half-sister of his classmate Shi Muning, and eventually became a fourth-rank official. All in all, he lived a fairly decent life.
Given another chance at life, he decides to pursue the imperial examinations again. This time, everything goes much more smoothly. Hey, I've done all these questions over and over in my past life, and I still remember the answers!
Shi Muning: My classmate Ji Xingbang loves to play the pig to eat the tiger. He half-heartedly does his homework, so nobody can tell how good he is. Who'd have thought he'd ace every exam!
Min Hongda: My classmate Ji Xingbang never tells the truth. Before exams, he says he doesn't know this or that, but when the test comes, he gets every answer right!
Shi Hanxue: Husband, you don't have to pretend around me. We're one as a married couple, so of course I'm on your side.
Ji Xingbang: I'm innocent! I'm really an honest man!
Coming soon: "My Wife Can Lift a Ding (Imperial Examinations)". Rolling around and begging you to add it to your collection!
Zu Hongcai wakes up one morning and discovers that he has returned to thirty years earlier. The world has yet to fall into chaos, the people have yet to be driven from their homes, and he is only thirteen. He hasn't yet married the woman he is engaged to.
Watching his future wife kneel in mourning clothes in the family mourning hall, weeping bitterly, he remembers that in his previous life she spent two years going hungry under the care of her heartless brother and sister-in-law. His heart aches, so he tells his parents to hurry and arrange their marriage while his future father-in-law is still in mourning. He'll bring his wife home, look after her properly, and spare her the suffering she endured in her past life.
The lands of Yan are short of people right now, and the Prince of Yan has received permission from the court to recruit settlers. With his knowledge, Zu Hongcai is sure to pass the imperial examinations and become an official in Yan, escaping the chaos to come. After all, once the country falls into disorder and the Prince of Yan eventually becomes emperor, his base in Yan will be the most peaceful place, least ravaged by war.
But why aren't things going the way they should?
How did my beloved wife, Yu Xiaoying, suddenly become strong enough to lift a ding? And how did I, a handsome scholar with the bearing of a jade tree, become the notorious kept man everyone knows?
Heavens above!
I've started a new coming-soon story, an imperial-examinations-and-mystery-solving tale. I hope you'll support it and add "My Father-in-Law Is Ye Gong (Imperial Examinations)" to your collections!
Male lead: Pan Ruowang. Female lead: Ye Xiaotong.
Pan Ruowang wakes up one morning and discovers he has returned to the time when he left home and stayed with the Ye family in the capital, his future in-laws.
He's still young and knows nothing. All he wants is to make a name for himself, and he pays little attention to his fiancee, Ye Xiaotong, responding to her care like a block of wood.
But now he has a chance to be more perceptive and become a good husband in Xiaotong's eyes, and a good son-in-law in his future father-in-law's!
There's another advantage: after serving as an official in the Ministry of Justice for years, he's read countless case files and knows who committed the crimes in quite a few cases!
But for now, he's only a scholar and has no authority to solve cases. All he can do is drop hints to his father-in-law through various well-timed coincidences.
Before long, his father-in-law becomes the capital's “Judge Bao,” solving cases with uncanny skill.
Though, “The Casebook of Ye Gong” sounds like a rather strange title!
Supporting character: Ye Lifeng
Theme: Study hard and provide for your family
I read it from beginning to end in one go, and it's good. I don't like many rebirth stories. I feel like they all have a vindictive attitude and they want to do a big career or marry a powerful and wealthy male protagonist. To be honest, I read this story purely for entertainment. If you can really be reborn, then everyone will be reborn! So I just wanted to have fun, but the writing was so depressing and vindictive that I lost the desire to read it.
My sister feels a little heartless
Wuhu, I don't know what direction the princess will take.
Tsk tsk, this is the emperor
Indeed, if you are not the person you like, you don't want to get married.
Yay!! The female goose is so smart and capable, it would be a pity not to be able to use her talents. Hug the author!
Is Ji Xingbang the Minister of Rites or the Ministry of Officials?
What is the big update rule?
Wow, DaDa has finally updated. I'm finally waiting for you. Fortunately, I didn't give up.
It's okay to take the exam and become a staff member.
