A short story of around 100,000 Chinese characters, with a bittersweet ending. The full novel is complete, with daily updates.
The summer after her junior year of high school, Jing Xia went to stay with her grandmother. The first time she saw Jiang Ye, he was fighting with a group of people. After arriving in the village, she heard two rumors about him.
"Jiang Ye's bad luck. Anyone who gets involved with him ends up unhappy."
"Jiang Ye can't hear or speak."
Their story began with that note.
It wasn't until later, when she saw the scars on his body, that Jing Xia learned they'd been inflicted by his father when Jiang Ye tried to protect his mother.
An eighteen-year-old girl's heart fluttered in the sweltering summer heat.
That summer, they held a wedding in the forest, one that only the two of them knew about.

Qin Yinya is aloof and keeps to her own rules for socializing. She's an excellent student, a teacher's favorite, and the girl everyone agrees would make the perfect first love.
Xi Weiyi is a rich second-generation kid raised on a shoestring, a laid-back troublemaker who loves racing. He's heard plenty of rumors at school, but has never cared enough to do anything about them.
At school, the two of them wouldn't normally have anything to do with each other, even if they crossed paths.
Then one day, the school forum exploded:
"Help! I saw Qin Yinya at Xi Weiyi's house!"
"What do you mean, 'at his house'?"
"What?!"
"I knew it ages ago! Qin Yinya's been living with Xi Weiyi for a while. I just didn't dare say anything. Xi Weiyi hits people."
"At night, in her pajamas! They were practically kissing! Actually, that close, they must have kissed already!"
Qin Yinya frowned slightly as she read the posts. If she let them keep going, they'd probably say she and Xi Weiyi had slept together next.
She looked up at Xi Weiyi across from her, who was grinning as he read. When he noticed her watching, he stopped. "I'll take care of it."
He took two steps, then suddenly turned back, bent down with a smile, and patted her head. "We really have kissed, though."
Qin Yinya: ?
--
It was a young love that never came to fruition. After graduating from high school, Qin Yinya left without a word. When they met again five years later, he had a child by his side and had become her creditor.

Ber When I saw this, it was clear who was the bad actor. Let me tell you, I was so annoyed when I saw the heroine in the back. The heroine was really a bit speechless???♀?
