On the last day before the college entrance exams, a virus suddenly strikes. Strange mutants appear at school, raging and bloodthirsty, stripped of reason and seemingly impossible to kill. A desperate human escape game begins.
Dublin, fresh from playing basketball, is trapped in the school building. After nearly dying several times, he runs into his ex-girlfriend, Haina, who is trapped there too.
Haina is injured, and Dublin risks his life to save her. Since their breakup, this is the first time they have been so close, and the first time they have managed to get along peacefully.
Once they are temporarily safe, a new problem quickly arises: there's no food.
With food and water running short and the school and surrounding area falling to the infection, they have to find a way to survive.
Suddenly, countless leaflets drift down from the sky, bearing the message: All survivors, proceed to the safe zone immediately.
Everyone is overjoyed and starts making plans to leave.
But, unfortunately, Dublin has been infected.
In just a few hours, he'll become one of the mutants outside.
Dublin suddenly disappears. Haina is both angry and dejected at his leaving without a word.
She remembers the argument they had before he left. He said, "Haina, when I thought I was about to die that day, my only wish was to see you."
She replied, "I'm sorry, but you weren't mine."
She's always been stubborn and never knows how to say anything tender.
A week after they part, she suddenly spots him in an abandoned factory, but Dublin's figure is gone in a flash.
Haina wants to investigate, but Pan Zhi'ang stops her. "He might... not be the Dublin you remember anymore."
Haina freezes. "What do you mean?"
"Dublin... may already be infected.
He's a special infected, too.
A few months after the virus outbreak, the number of special mutants suddenly increases, gradually leading to a conflict between the special infected and humanity.
They want to infect everyone and create a whole new world for themselves.
