Doppelganger romance | Mutual use | Coercive possession
The first time Wen Yuyin met Zhong Zuxiao was in the chaotic red-light district of Thailand.
The man wore a crisp white suit and had broad shoulders and a slim waist, with Eastern bone structure and Western features. There wasn’t a single flaw in his face or profile.
Her instincts told her he was a gentleman with a dark side, so she kept her distance. But he gradually drew closer, curled his lips, and asked softly, “Would you be interested in having dinner with me?”
After they got together, he showered her with affection and controlled every part of her life: what she wore, what she ate, and how she had to turn her face to the left when she smiled.
Later, she saw a photograph in his study. The woman in it wore a white dress and looked exactly like her.
At last, she understood that Zhong Zuxiao had only ever treated her as a substitute.
From then on, she held back her true feelings. She even accepted flowers from another man right in front of him.
He remained unmoved, and she thought their relationship was over. But one night, drunk out of his mind, he dragged her from a photo shoot into his car and cornered her, his hand bulging with veins as he gripped her throat.
“Wen Yuyin, you still owe me a child. Don’t even think about running away.”
Note: Neither lead is sexually inexperienced; each has had previous partners. The male and female leads are not written as perfect people.
