Playing the Villain at University

Chen Fei isn't actually all that useless. She's very good at fighting.

But it's also true that she's bad at socializing and making money.

After going too long without any income, she worked up the courage to take a job. It was a riot-control drill at the prestigious University A, and she was supposed to play the criminal.

She asked what exactly they wanted her to do. They said there was nothing special: just play a villain who did every evil thing imaginable.

She'd be paid by the hour after it was done.

Got it.

On the day of the drill, Chen Fei took down all the security guards in five minutes, snuck into the university, and began a weeklong life of crime.

Snacks from the supermarket? Steal them, but keep a tab.

Students with no sense of caution? Trick them, but keep a tab.

Students who came to catch her alone? She'd smear chalk on a wooden dagger and mark their necks with it. If there was chalk on your neck, that meant you were dead. Swipe, you're dead.

Before long, a manhunt straight out of a murder-mystery game swept across University A.

But there still seemed to be bookworms who paid no attention to anything outside their studies and had no idea what was going on.

One afternoon, Chen Fei picked a pack of dried mango from an old professor's pocket and hid in the shade of a tree to enjoy it.

A fair, clean hand reached out and offered her a pack of brown sugar cookies.

Chen Fei looked up. The student was frowning, and seemed genuinely concerned. "I've seen you several times now... Are you really that hard up?"
