Legion Commander Muerbisi never believed in the love male insects spoke of.
Even though the whole empire praised him for raising a perfect young male insect with his own hands, granting him status and freedom, and turning him into the model of an elegant, gentle male noble admired by all insectkind, he still did not believe.
He deliberately kept his distance and offered no unnecessary tenderness. When the young Xue Yin, still a child, blushed and presented him with a clumsy gift he had made himself, Muerbisi merely glanced at it, set it aside, and gave him an expensive but utterly thoughtless luxury item in return.
He watched coldly, waiting for the young male insect to reach adulthood and, like all male insects, be driven by the greed and reproductive urges in his genes until he became a disappointing, base creature.
Over time, the young boy learned to rein in his emotions around him, keeping himself restrained and proper.
That was exactly what Muerbisi wanted.
A distant but respectable relationship, with enough mutual respect. Even when he heard that the boy had grown close to a female insect at school, he only frowned briefly before adding the unknown female insect to the list of potential future consorts for his little one.
The whole empire sang the young male insect's praises, calling him a rare creature devoted to love who would never be corrupted by power. Muerbisi sneered. True love? He had never believed in such an illusory thing.
Until that day.
His beloved young male insect knelt before him, his voice trembling.
"I'm willing to give up everything: my title, my property, my privileges. I'll return it all to you..." Xue Yin clenched the hem of his clothes, his knuckles turning white. "I only ask you... to dissolve the engagement."
"I love Noyis."
Ah. So that's how it was.
The legion commander suddenly wanted to laugh. The little one really was devoted to love, just not to him.
But he thought... he had gotten what he had long dreamed of.
"Of course you can," he said calmly.
"Really?!" Xue Yin looked up sharply, his eyes full of hope.
"Mm." The legion commander opened his arms slightly. "Come give me a hug."
But Xue Yin hesitated. "...Noyis will get the wrong idea."
Noyis certainly would not get the wrong idea.
The moment that name had left Xue Yin's lips, three minutes ago, it had already been sent to the bodyguards' communicators.
That lowborn female insect was probably already dead.
The legion commander gazed at the boy's damp lashes and gently straightened his collar.
So naive, still thinking love was something you could get by begging for it.
But it didn't matter.
His little one would belong to him forever. So what if he fell in love with someone else? The legion commander had no shortage of money or power, and even less of ways to teach a disobedient little thing to behave again.
Now.
It was time to enjoy his spoils.
--- Blurb Two ---
From the moment he hatched, Xue Yin was destined to become the Vester Crown Duke. Gifted beyond compare, he was a rare, top-tier male insect, stunningly beautiful and nobly poised, yet blessed with a gentle, kind nature.
He first met Muerbisi at the Vester Crown Duke's estate. The first snow of winter lay lightly across him, while the moisture from his hatching still clung to him, making him seem hazy and dewy. Through that mist, he met a pair of dark eyes, unfathomably deep.
The female insect who held power over the entire empire gazed at him with profound eyes. His fingertips, still stained with blood, slowly drew closer as Xue Yin's vision cleared, making him tremble. The man spoke in a low, husky voice:
"Good boy, call me your lord."
One was a forceful, sinister figure who spent all year at war and used ruthless methods; the other lived in splendid solitude at the ducal estate, bright and immaculate, cool as the moon.
They could go a year without seeing each other. They were family, intimate yet distant, close yet estranged.
Sadly, people long for too much in this life. Power became a cage, fame and fortune a net. Even raised to the highest position, he was still nothing but a puppet on strings.
He no longer wanted power. He wanted love.
The room was filled with a faint, heady fragrance. Noyis's eyes were rimmed red, his purple gaze bewitching and filled with undisguised desire.
"When are you going to break off the engagement?" Noyis wound a strand of Xue Yin's hair around his finger.
Xue Yin's gaze was gentle. "Wait a little longer. Soon."
"I can't wait." His fingertip brushed the corner of Xue Yin's lips, his voice hoarse and burning. "How about you give me a proper title in exchange for tonight?"
1. A scheming, flirtatious second male lead x a noble, devoted male insect x a domineering, sinister female-insect spouse.
2. More or less, a story about a little angel being thoroughly deceived by a schemer and a legion commander.
3. An extremely melodramatic novel!!! The plot is melodramatic too!!!
4. Blurb One is from the bottom's perspective; the main story is top-oriented, with one-on-one pairings in certain arcs. The perspective serves the plot.
5. The author has no triggers, so there may be triggers everywhere. If anything bothers you, stop reading in time.

Theme: Absolute power will eventually backfire; true feelings grow from equality.
After re-reading the text and looking back at the relationship between Xue Yin and Noyce, the more I read, the more I felt that the relationship between the two insects was extremely unequal from beginning to end. Noyce is more like a vassal and plaything on another level, but it's Xue's good nature that makes this relationship seem warm and loving. As a staunch official supporter, I originally had no personal prejudice against the character of Noyce. I just looked at this cannon fodder from a God's perspective, a character who was born only to promote the plot. But it wasn't until the scene where he wiped his neck that I was really angry. After that, I didn't like him no matter what, and I wanted to complain as soon as he appeared. I always felt that he took up too much of the scene. But objectively speaking, his role after the second episode is actually not that important. Except for the third volume, every time he appears, he is like an NPC with its own mission, just to advance the plot. When I saw him being stabbed in the back by his own cub in the end, I couldn't help but feel sad for him; but after watching the extra chapter, I saw that he was always stubborn and never felt that he was wrong, and it instantly made me want to blast him. 😂 Many people feel that Noyce cannot support the character of an ambitious person. Perhaps the ambitious person in everyone's mind is the image of a strong person who strategizes, calculates every plan, and works step by step. In fact, rather than defining Noyce as a traditional careerist, it is better to say that he is just a low-level female in a class-solidified world who is unwilling to be mediocre and desperately wants to climb up.
What has Noyce earned on his own? Didn't his status come from sacrificing Xueyin? [Lie down] I'm really speechless. I feel like Noyce's character has collapsed again.
It's all a side story, and Noyce still has to deal with it. . .
I failed, but Noyce had the nerve to say that he earned it himself. Where did he get the face?
That Nuo doesn't love Snow [question mark] I don't feel much love after reading it. He just wanted a high-class child at the beginning, but in the end he got everything he wanted, power, status and a high-class child [eye roll]
You shouldn't have read this chapter, I got heart attack when I saw Noyce
During the period from Feng Ling to the birth of double-yolked eggs, Moer and Xue Yin were in a cold face, but they never stopped and no one was hungry [question mark] [eh~].
It's just a matter of being more tolerant of the female worms responsible for fertility. Xue Yin's character is kind and soft. I know I don't love you anymore, I know it's over between us, I know what you have done, and I know what I have done. But this does not stop me from hoping that you are alive and well. A person with a clean heart will not wish the other person to die just because the relationship is over. You will not lose your respect for life and deny everything just because you have been hurt. You can bless a stranger, let alone a person who has had insect cubs with you? It's not that he is special to Noyce, it's Xueyin's attitude towards everyone, not to mention that they are strangers now. It would be strange if Xueyin spoke harshly to Noyce and looked coldly at him - it means that Noyce still has a special place in his heart, and he still has hatred and can't let go. But Xue Yin just calmly hoped that he was alive and well, which just showed that Noyce had become an "ordinary person". Of course, blessings can be given to ordinary people. Xue didn't choose Mo at the beginning, which was also a thorn in Mo's side. Each piece, page after page, had to be put to rest before starting a new chapter.
Cillian is the protagonist of a miserable novel, but his father leads a happy life (the supporting role)
Coming from another book from Da Da Da, I originally wanted to read the story of my father's generation, but as a CPJ, I really can't stand the aggression and other people who are not the main subject. You Zai 😂 rate it, and go back to read Restricted Female King 🌈
