Meitasong has been having the same terrifying dream lately.
In the dream, before long, his once warm and peaceful home is engulfed in flames and drowned in blood. His mother, covered in wounds so deep you can see the bone, locks him in a box and tells him not to make a sound. Tears fill Meitasong's eyes as he covers his mouth and nose, trembling uncontrollably, desperately trying to hide himself. But in the end, he is always found.
I've got you.
The dream always ends frozen on that pair of deep, black eyes that make him tremble.
In a daze, until one day at a banquet, he sees the owner of those dreamlike eyes across a crowd of clinking glasses: his mother's political enemy, the notoriously brutal General Rhein Mueller of the Imperial Star.
The moment their eyes meet, he flees in a panic. He can't let this go on. He spends months gathering information about the male insect, only to find that the man has no weaknesses at all. As the date from his dream draws closer, Meitasong suddenly hones his fear into a mad idea.
On the day of the grand ceremony, with all the insects watching, beneath that suffocating gaze, Meitasong addresses the Insect Emperor: "I... I want General Rhein Mueller to be my male consort."
If he becomes his male consort, he'll have to listen to him... right?
The male insect, still carrying the scent of blood, walks slowly up to Meitasong. His towering shadow swallows the little male insect whole. He slowly kneels, wraps a broad hand around Meitasong's hand, and leaves a kiss there, like a venomous snake licking its way through the darkness. "As you wish."
Rhein Mueller never expected the famous beautiful, pampered young male from his political enemy's household to openly ask for his hand and request an arranged marriage at the ceremony, then faint from excitement.
He narrows his eyes slightly. Seeing his political enemy's face as if he'd eaten shit, he realizes there could be no better revenge. Holding his unconscious young male lord, he glances at the enemy, who is cursing furiously.
Rhein Mueller lowers his eyes and, amid the uproar in the hall, bends down to press a kiss to those unsuspecting lips.
The little thing that trembles every night in his dreams, with nowhere to run, is finally in his arms now: docile, soft, utterly powerless to resist.
Theme: Power will ultimately turn against itself; true affection grows from equality.
