Broken Mirrors Don't Mend | The Second Male Lead Takes the Crown | Love at First Sight

When the mountain she spent ten years climbing finally rose up before her again, the blade hidden beneath sweet words pierced her chest with merciless sharpness. Leaving it there meant enduring a bitter, numb ache; pulling it out meant a blood-soaked pain. She could not hate the man she loved. But as time passed, the man she loved had somehow become the very person she hated most. She would have to make a choice...

Brilliant fireworks blurred Wen Xu's vision as a gleaming silver chain settled lightly against her collarbone. A man's gentle voice sounded by her ear: "Happy birthday, Miss Wen."

"You should call me Mrs. Shen," Wen Xu said, lowering her eyes.

The man gave a soft laugh and stepped back to a safe distance. He downed the red wine on the table in one go. "But, Madam, your Mr. Shen is celebrating another woman's birthday. The man standing beside you now is Mr. Li."

Wen Xu picked up her own glass and suppressed the bitterness in her heart. She replied sharply, "If you're trying to mock me, congratulations. You've succeeded."

Leaning lazily against the railing, the man said as if it were an afterthought, "...You know I'm clearly pursuing you."

Wen Xu felt a little uneasy, and her expression turned even colder. "...What happened to your morals, Li Yunbai? You're pursuing a married woman."

Li Yunbai straightened up and undid the button at his collar with one hand, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You like men with morals? I can have those too. But when will Miss Wen be single again?"

"What's the rush?"

"Sorry, but my wife's affairs always come first."

"I'm not your wife."

"You will be soon."

One day after they got married, Wen Xu accidentally opened someone's browsing history:

#The woman I fell in love with at first sight became my friend's wife

#Who came up with the rule that you mustn't covet your friend's wife?

#I have a wife I want to marry. How do I convince her to leave that man?

#Is it illegal to force someone into a relationship?

#What does it mean to boil a frog in warm water?

Wen Xu: "..."
