What does a wage slave need?
Why, work, work, and endless work!
Poverty is the best magic for making people sell themselves. With his mind full of nothing but his paycheck, One Yen signed a contract to sell himself without hesitation after dying from overwork, becoming the strongest wage slave, hopping between all kinds of crossover worlds.
I fixed Gin's car, watched Dazai Osamu jump off a building, and got my head twisted around by Gojo Satoru!
I've died in 108 different ways.
Who can say this isn't true love?
I was the one torn to pieces by cursed spirits, the one passing information to the rotten oranges, the little girl selling flowers on the street, and the dessert master in the pastry shop. Every last one of them was me!
Surprised? Shocked? Making loud plans to kill him right in front of him?
Of course he saw through them in an instant and killed me instead!
One Yen turned passersby into villains without even realizing his own image had undergone a major transformation. His professional skills were so outstanding that he managed a hundred or so secret identities, all operating at once. Not only were his split selves absurdly numerous, he'd also become known as the mysterious organization's powerful and terrifying mastermind, the kind whose every acquaintance could be one of its members.
One Yen: ...
He was so busy every day his feet barely touched the ground. He filled notebook after notebook with schedules. Every time he completed a passerby's role, he recorded and archived it; the ones who hadn't died kept on running. He worked harder than an ox, went to bed later than a dog, and got up earlier than a chicken. Not only had he single-handedly boosted the mysterious organization's species diversity, people were even saying he was a big shot who could make all Japan tremble with a wave of his hand from a thousand miles away?
I'm an organization employee, I'm management, and I'm the boss.
To feed the whole family, One Yen diligently did every job, from street performances to running a stall in a shop.
To make sure the plot kept running smoothly, One Yen, who realized he might actually, perhaps, possibly... be a villain, hugged himself.
No, no, no. My secret identities absolutely cannot be exposed!!!
Wouldn't a bunch of people kill me?!
Goodbye, Mi-chan. Tonight, I'm sailing far away...
No! I still have to fight back!
And yet, maybe this secret identity had never been on him in the first place...
Caught by the collar, One Yen turned to look at those beautiful, sky-blue eyes and said with a completely unfamiliar expression, "Hello. Could you let go of me? I'm just a passerby. I don't know anything."
"Look what I've caught." Excitement gleamed in Gojo Satoru's eyes. "Honestly, I thought... you'd never come back."
Then he looked around.
Wow, there are so many people here, hahaha.
One Yen: !!!
Damn it! Am I finally going to be torn into pieces?!
A few things to know before reading:
The protagonist's name is Yi Ri·Yuan!
1. The male lead has no feelings and only loves money (points). He's a mastermind villain behind the scenes in the early chapters, and later becomes a master... of sorts. Although he has a lot of inner monologue, each thing he does is crazier than the last.
2. He's not a good person, and he kills people. Quite a lot of them, too. Tall, short, fat, thin, men, women, young, old, everyone gets it. There's a bit of an anything-goes vibe.
3. The other characters know the male lead is a bad person, but they've loved him, hated him, then loved him again (?). The male lead gets a thoroughly deserved death, in the literal, physical sense.
4. The secret identity characters have some tabletop role-playing elements and require checks, but they don't come up much.
5. This is a very weird story. If it's not for you, click the X in the top right right away!!! Don't put yourselves through it, my dears!
