I.
Zongzheng Yan, the empire's youngest major general and one of its twin stars, is ordered to suppress the rebels in the Laige star sector. He has just learned the rebels' latest movements and issued orders to take action when he suddenly finds himself in a strange little room.
The room contains only a bed and a door, along with the equally bewildered rebel leader.
Song Hening has just dealt with a traitor in the rebel ranks. He is in the middle of wiping his blade when he, too, ends up in the strange room, face-to-face with Zongzheng Yan, the man he can't stand.
Zongzheng Yan and Song Hening fight, but neither manages to win. Zongzheng Yan decides to pry open the door and take the other man back to his own forces first, so he can wipe out the rebels once and for all. As it happens, Song Hening has the same idea.
But the door won't give way to a laser gun or an ion blade. What's more, they can't connect to their mechs or log on to the StarNet from inside the room.
Convinced the other is behind this scheme, they clash again. Just as the fight reaches its peak, a message flashes on their optical brains, which can't contact the outside world.
Song Hening studies the message with a grim expression for a long while before finally asking, "What's a room you can only leave by doing it?"
Zongzheng Yan: "..." He wants to know, too.
II.
In short, after their first visit to that strange room, the two begin a life of disliking each other while getting tangled up in an ambiguous, mutually conspiratorial relationship.
But Zongzheng Yan thinks he'll never get used to having his soul switch into Song Hening, who's in the middle of an internal meeting, halfway through a tactical analysis.
Zongzheng Yan sits through the meeting, then leaves with a cold expression and takes the key into the depths of the rebel base. But at the last door, he falls into thought: just how devious does someone have to be to use their own biometric information as the password?
Meanwhile, Song Hening, whose soul has switched into Zongzheng Yan, looks around and nonchalantly opens Zongzheng Yan's optical brain during the meeting. After cracking layer upon layer of passwords, he gazes at the final file with an inscrutable expression.
Human civilization started using biometric passwords as security information a thousand years ago. What era is this? Who still sets the most primitive kind of password? Who exactly are they trying to keep out?
The interstellar troops and the rebels: "I don't know why, but the major general/boss seems so irritating these past few days."
III.
When they are dragged into the strange room again, Zongzheng Yan calmly reaches over and pulls off Song Hening's clothes. The first time is awkward, the second is easy. They exchange a glance, already knowing exactly what's going on.
After their first round, Zongzheng Yan is disappointed to find that the door still won't open.
"You're not much good, are you? You're already out of strength. Maybe I should take over next time." Song Hening climbs out of bed with a laugh and reaches for the door, too. It doesn't budge, silently mocking them both.
"You think you can do better?" Zongzheng Yan rests a hand on Song Hening's waist, a rare smile on his face. Before they can once again settle the question of whether he can perform or not, their optical brains vibrate and a message appears.
Song Hening reads the message, his expression darkening. "What's a door that only opens if you truly hate each other?"
Zongzheng Yan looks up at the ceiling. "I want to know, too."

In short, it's a big mixed-up mess.
