One snowy night, Yan Shu's former love rival, Ling Rongyuan, knocked on his door.
After losing his powers, Yan Shu had withdrawn to a quiet corner of the city, where he played the part of an ordinary person. As time passed, he almost forgot the days when he had been an esper, until Ling Rongyuan came looking for him.
They had once been rivals in love, and neither had a particularly good impression of the other. Yan Shu immediately wanted to shut the door and bar the man representing his past and danger from entering.
His love rival, pale-faced, stopped the door from closing. "There are people outside looking for me."
Yan Shu furrowed his brow and clicked his tongue, but still let him in.
At the time, Yan Shu hadn't yet thought of the farmer and the snake, or the man of Zheng and the wolf.
Only later, with his forehead pressed to Ling Rongyuan's shoulder and his whole body held tightly in his arms, did Yan Shu finally realize how Ling Rongyuan had found his home.
Theme: Finding a way to survive in dire straits and rallying to rise again.
