Ji Yaozhi, ID: Wangge, is the star player of KP, one of the country's top esports teams.
Two of the top players on the world ladder are him, one on his main account and one on his alt.
He's unmatched in popularity and outrageously arrogant.
In his second year as a pro, a standoutly handsome trainee named Shi Jia joined KP's youth team.
But what drew people in most was his wild-dog gaze, bright and arresting, with a stubborn determination to never give up.
Ji Yaozhi knew at first sight that he was done for.

He was always looking after Shi Jia under the pretext of coaching him.
But Shi Jia found Ji Yaozhi's shameless, no-limits devotion incredibly annoying.
"Touch me again and I'll chop off those hands of yours."
"Go ahead. I've been waiting for you to try."
"Aren't you disgusting?"
"Then who was it that grabbed me and wouldn't stop kissing me last night?"
Throughout their time on the youth team, the two maintained an absurd, ambiguous relationship.
Ji Yaozhi had a blast teasing the kid, even paving the way for his entire future.
But on the day Shi Jia's training ended, he turned his back on Ji Yaozhi and left with all the resources KP had given him. He then joined forces with outsiders to start his own team, exposing all of KP's strategies for the next season.
Ji Yaozhi was severely disciplined and nearly kicked off KP.
On his way to confront Shi Jia, he got into a car accident and suffered a compound fracture of his right index finger, nearly bringing his career to an end.
That day, everyone thought Shi Jia had come to gloat. Instead, he stood outside Ji Yaozhi's operating room all night, eyes red.
"Brother Ji..."
Shi Jia held his hand, so grief-stricken he could barely speak.
Ji Yaozhi had never taken such a heavy loss in his life.
He'd been used for sex, humiliated, and his career was over.
He wished he'd never met Shi Jia.
"You ungrateful mutt. Don't let me see you again."

Shi Jia transformed into the captain of Vanguard, a monstrous rookie who took the entire esports scene by storm and earned the adoration of countless people.
Yet now, he was willing to lay aside all his sharp edges and cling desperately to Ji Yaozhi, just like a dog following its owner and begging for forgiveness.
No matter how coldly Ji Yaozhi treated him or how cruelly he drove him away, Shi Jia stayed there, prostrate, never leaving again.
"Shi Jia, if I ever get back together with you, may I be damned for wasting the life my parents gave me."
"Get lost."
