A Fatal Flirtation

[Reposting an old story from 2018. I revised it once in 2020, and the writing improved a little, but the plot is rather thin.]

[An old-school, melodramatic mpreg story. I'm reposting it only to complete the series' plot. Read with caution if you have a low tolerance for this kind of story, or strong preferences about pairings.]

Prince Chu Yue of Nan Zhao fought for his country and came home covered in wounds and illness. He never expected to return to court only to plunge into the abyss of a succession struggle. Framed and sent to Beili to marry, he was betrothed to a playboy Crown Prince who spent his days chasing women.

Fortunately, the playboy Crown Prince also tried to call off the engagement.

One day, Chu Yue was sitting in a teahouse when he happened to save Xie Changge. They fell for each other at first sight.

Only later did Chu Yue learn that Xie Changge was the very same playboy Crown Prince.

--

Xie Changge had spent half his life chasing pleasure and never imagined he would one day fall for Chu Yue.

It was only natural for a man to have several wives and concubines, especially when he was a Crown Prince.

And so he made a mistake that could never be forgiven, losing the love of his life forever.

Many years later, he told Xie Linyuan, "Your father spent his whole life paying for the mistakes of his wayward youth. My son, make sure you never follow in my footsteps."

Xie Linyuan only half understood. All he knew was that on his birthday, he saw his father kneeling before his father's memorial tablet, sobbing uncontrollably.
