Yemu Sheng transmigrates into Detective Conan and gets a secret-identity System.
He says with complete confidence, "I get it. Next, I'll put on my secret identities, wreak havoc, collect impression points, and use spoilers to give everyone a little taste of the plot team's shock."
The System says, "No."
Yemu Sheng thinks for a moment. "...Fine, I really don't have much brains. If I spoil something people aren't supposed to know, it'll be over. Then how about giving everyone a little taste of supernatural powers?"
The System says, "That's not it either."
So what is he supposed to do with these secret identities?
At Yemu Sheng's puzzled look, the System cries out in outrage, "You're supposed to write detective novels! If you're a literary genius, then go do what a literary genius is supposed to do!"
"Uh, sorry to interrupt," Yemu Sheng says, grabbing at a thread of hope. "Are you actually a plagiarism System?"
"Of course not! Human works are protected by copyright. We only provide the secret identities. You're free to use their supernatural powers, but you have to write the novels yourself!"
He tries to wriggle out of it. "Didn't Detective Conan have famous writers in its history?"
"Cognitive filter. Everyone who's used it loves it. Go ahead and make your debut under your secret identities, dear! The newcomer award is calling your name!"
And so, the world of Detective Conan begins to see scenes like these.
The killer in a cafe cries and runs to take a hostage. A young man with reddish-brown hair charges in and kicks him so hard he flies past three tables and chairs before landing.
The young man adjusts his hat, then politely asks, "Excuse me. Could I use this case as material for my writing?"
[He couldn't understand how anyone could hate him. Of course, he wasn't some conceited, annoying guy. In fact, he was honest, kind, warmhearted, and cheerful. Every stranger who saw him would happily smile back at him.
Even when the killer tremblingly plunged a kitchen knife into his heart, he kept apologizing. "I'm sorry. You're a good person. I'm sorry. I'll feel guilty for the rest of my life if I kill you. I'm sorry. But if you don't die in my place, I won't have a life to live."]
- The Dead Man with No Suspects
A red-haired young man squats down and patiently answers the children's questions. The Detective Boys like this kind older brother very much, and happily tell him about the cases they've encountered.
He sighs. "How nice. Children's vacations are so eventful. Can I put them in a book?"
Conan: "Wait, these ridiculous everyday events are the problem with the children, aren't they?"
[He was a child.
His teacher once said that children could see things adults couldn't. His father agreed, then gently added that those things didn't exist.
"So the hand you saw Dad secretly throwing into the fireplace last night didn't exist either."]
- The Eyes of a Child
Inspector Megure rushes to the scene of a suicide by the river and finds the deceased lying calmly in a bag, while a wet, black-haired suspect stands on the bank.
Wrapped in a blanket and sneezing, the suspect says he's searching for the meaning of life for a novel he's writing.
"But the woman didn't commit suicide," the young man says, pointing a bandage-wrapped finger at the bewildered killer in the crowd. He looks bored. "Maybe the killer didn't expect anyone else to be jumping into the river today."
[Killing another person is a crime. This truth has never changed, from ancient times to the present.
But what about killing yourself?
She was truly a heinous criminal.
Because every moment, every second, she couldn't stop imagining ways to kill herself.]
- The Killer Found Not Guilty
Yemu Sheng: "Hehe, secret identities are so useful. I love them! The whole Black Organization is going to come study my novels!"
Reader's guide:
1. This is pretty much what the blurb says. Supernatural powers and the Black Organization will definitely appear, since the world of Detective Conan is pretty dangerous (x).
2. The inspiration was probably a phrase I keep seeing whenever I read fanfiction: "If you're a literary genius, then go write novels like you're supposed to!"
3. I'm long-winded, and so are my novels. The stories within the story are much the same.
4. Updates depend on the rankings (though maybe they won't, and I might just get stuck in the writing cave). Schedule is uncertain.
