Kashima Rei had known from childhood that talent was a curse. Especially when he told his parents where they had been and what filthy things clung to them, then saw the terror in their eyes. That was when he realized he didn't belong in a world where everyone was born an idiot.
"I was born to be a detective," Kashima Rei said.
"No. You're actually a jujutsu sorcerer," Yaga Masamichi told him, then paused. "A very clever jujutsu sorcerer."
After all, Kashima Rei's technique, [Truth Revealed], demanded an exceptional mind. If Kashima Rei weren't smart, there was no way he could use it so effectively.
When Kashima Rei entered Tokyo Jujutsu High, he assumed most of the people there would be self-centered, since a cursed technique was one's whole world. So the moment he arrived, Kashima Rei declared, "I have nothing to say to a bunch of jujutsu idiots."
But later, Kashima Rei said, "Nanami was right. Cherish your life and stay away from Gojo-senpai and Geto-senpai!"
Haibara: ...So did Kashima ever explain how he caught that cursed brain guy?
Nanami: He said he made one deduction, then another, and in the end he caught him.
Haibara: Wow, Nanami, you're amazing! You can actually repeat Kashima's reasoning, even though no one can understand it!
Kashima Rei: I think I explained it perfectly clearly! Even Geto-senpai's curses can understand me!
Mahito: I can't understand a word!!! And a technique that can restrict the movements of anything with cursed energy as long as you deduce the truth behind its crimes is way too overpowered!
Bonus skit:
Kashima: Good evening, Nanami, Haibara. I've restrained Gojo-senpai and Geto-senpai.
Haibara: Great job, Kashima! How did you restrain them?
Nanami: ...I have a bad feeling about this.
Kashima: Obviously, I told them to their faces about how they secretly wore Ieiri-senpai's skirt. What shameless behavior!
Nanami: Does that count as a crime?
Kashima: Of course. I defined it as theft! Here's to an evening without the senpais causing trouble!
