The Casebook of the Journey to the West

Chapter from Journey to the West: "Capturing Zhu Bajie at Gao Village"

Elder Gao, the head of the Gao family, ordered his servants to search far and wide for capable people who could capture Zhu Bajie. Little did he know that all they brought back were useless monks and incompetent Daoist priests.

Bo Yichen merely slipped and fell into a river. When he opened his eyes again, he never expected to have become one of the useless men Gao Cai had hired at great expense from Journey to the West. He didn't have the slightest ability to catch demons. The sight of Zhu Bajie made his legs go weak, and he was knocked down with a rake.

It doesn't matter how you start or what your identity is. All that matters is getting to meet the real Monkey Bro and watch him subdue a demon just once.

Monkey Bro, wait for me! I'm coming!

But something seemed off. He just wanted to chase after his idol, Monkey Bro. Why was he being asked to investigate a case? And how could a mortal like him investigate a case involving those demons? Was this some kind of joke?

"A joke? Then let's see you laugh."

Bo Yichen glanced at the cauldron of boiling oil already set over the fire beside him. He didn't dare even twitch the corners of his mouth. "I'll investigate. I can do it."
