The Painter and the Novelist

"Could you fall in love with me and then abandon me, so I can write a full-blown tragic ending?"

Chi Qingzhu approached Jing Tao, a womanizer famous in the industry, and proposed it eagerly.

Jing Tao was even better known for the rumors about her constantly changing girlfriends than for her exquisite painting skills.

So after Chi Qingzhu got so frustrated with writer's block that she was tearing her hair out, she had a sudden stroke of inspiration and came up with this "brilliant idea."

"You change girlfriends all the time anyway. Why not change to me this time?"

What did it mean to write as if inspired by the gods? Hehehe, she'd soon find out! Chi Qingzhu was dreaming about her bright future and failed to notice the dark look in the eyes of the person in front of her.

The quiet bar was full of chatter. Jing Tao read Chi Qingzhu's lips and understood what she meant. She raised an eyebrow slightly.

She knew Chi Qingzhu, the genius writer famous in the industry for her sweet romances.

"Okay."

She accepted the request, neither confirming nor denying anything. Her painting skills had reached their limit; all that was missing was a soul.

Getting someone with emotional detachment to put feelings into a painting was asking far too much of her.

A novelist in search of writing inspiration and a great painter in search of a soul for her art clinked glasses and drank sparkling wine with a sweet citrus fragrance.

Each had her own motives, and only when they looked at each other and smiled did neither feel guilty.
