Killing Intent

There was a god of slaughter in the Heavenly Court, named Shaxin.

She had the face of Guanyin and the heart of a demon.

Five hundred years ago, she slaughtered the entire dragon clan, yet hid their only surviving hatchling in her sleeve. She shared her bed with her day and night, raising her with meticulous care.

Everyone said the Judicial Heavenly God was merciful. Only Shaxin knew that she wasn't raising a disciple. She wanted the girl to become the sharpest blade, one that would help her kill the Heavenly Emperor and offer him up to the Great Dao.

She taught her how to kill and how to be ruthless. The one thing she never taught her was how to fall in love.

But though Shaxin had calculated every twist of fate, she failed to account for the dragon who had grown up in her hands developing a forbidden desire to defy her master.

Ao Yin had loved Shaxin for five hundred years.

She learned her swordsmanship and understood her Dao. By a twist of fate, she even glimpsed the Great Dao beyond the Heavenly Dao and cultivated an invincible art.

Until the truth was laid bare in a river of blood: her former master was the enemy who had destroyed her clan.

High above the Ninth Heaven, Ao Yin pointed her sword at Shaxin, the corners of her eyes scarlet, her sword energy blazing like a rainbow. "Is this the Dao you taught me?"

Shaxin's expression was impassive, but she did not fight back. "Yes."

"Kill me. That is your Dao."

The young dragon prodigy's expression was unreadable as she shattered the gates of heaven with a single strike.

She drove the lofty Judicial Heavenly God into a corner of the divine throne.

Her fingertip pressed hard against Shaxin's perpetually cold lips. The dragon's voice was hoarse:

"Since Master says this is my Dao, then I must trouble you..."

"Here in this divine hall, help me attain the Dao."
