Jian Ran and Gu Jingchuan were in love and together for ten years, and they had an adorable son.
In an accident, Gu Jingchuan died protecting Jian Ran and their son.
Jian Ran couldn't accept Gu Jingchuan's death. Even though everyone told him to live on for their son's sake, all he felt was endless despair.
Just as he was about to give up, a voice suddenly sounded in Jian Ran's mind. It called itself an intelligent butler who had watched him grow up since childhood. It also said he wasn't from Earth: its energy had nearly run out, causing him to fall to Earth, and it had awakened early when it sensed that his life force was dangerously weak.
Jian Ran thought it all sounded ridiculous, but the fact that he, as a man, could give birth was ridiculous too. He hadn't thought he needed a system butler, yet the System said it could use its last bit of energy to take him back in time to find Gu Jingchuan. He immediately agreed.
But the Gu Jingchuan they met in the past was 24 years old. He didn't know Jian Ran and said it was impossible for him to have a son.
Jian Ran didn't mind. As long as Gu Jingchuan was alive, their family could be together again.
Gu Jingchuan had taken over the company right after graduating and devoted himself to work, never fooling around.
Then one day, a man and a child suddenly appeared. The child called him Daddy, and the man claimed to be his lover.
He thought they were scammers.
He'd never dated anyone, or even held hands with a man or a woman. How could he possibly have such a grown-up son?
But the boy really was the biological child of the two men.
So, since when could men have children?
Reader's guide:
1. Modern setting with an alternate-world premise and plenty of invented details.
2. The son is biologically theirs, but there won't be any more pregnancies in the story.
3. The System uses up all its energy taking them back in time and disappears, so there is no System in the story.
4. One-on-one romance. They only ever have each other.
Theme: There is always hope in despair.
