Tracing Warmth Through the Night

Chu Su gently set down his coffee cup. The porcelain base tapped against the marble countertop, making the back of Fu Chengyun's neck tingle.

He looked at the neatly trimmed fingertips across from him. Just then, his low voice softened as he said, "Chengyun, your tie is crooked."

Fu Chengyun tightened his jaw and let the hand wearing a platinum wedding ring touch his Adam's apple. The hand leisurely adjusted his silk tie, its breath brushing his taut neck like spring water flowing over ice.

"Does President Chu have to meddle in even the smallest things?"

"After all, the whole company says President Fu keeps me as a canary in a cage."

Chu Su stepped behind Fu Chengyun, smiling as he straightened his shirt collar. The warmth of his knuckles brushing Fu Chengyun's collarbone made his lower back go weak. "I should at least do my duty as a canary."
