The day Tang Muqiu, an Alpha, enrolled in the Armed Forces Academy, he was reunited with Qi Ze'an.

Tang Muqiu wanted to run on the spot, for two reasons:

1. Qi Ze'an knew he was a Beta.

2. Two years ago, just as he and Qi Ze'an were about to start dating, he had left without a word and dumped Qi Ze'an brutally.

So Tang Muqiu felt guilty. His beautiful, cool and composed face was always lowered, his eyes and brows obediently downcast.

Although he mostly tried to hide from Qi Ze'an, that didn't stop Tang Muqiu from secretly approaching him.

When Tang Muqiu first got close, Qi Ze'an wore a grim expression and seemed even more fierce than before, refusing to cooperate in the slightest.

After a while, Qi Ze'an stopped acting fierce and even tried to kiss Tang Muqiu again.

By the end, Qi Ze'an's way of pressing Tang Muqiu for the reason behind his advances was to set their passions ablaze.

Tang Muqiu was mild-tempered, yet Qi Ze'an bullied him until he cried.

But Tang Muqiu still refused to reveal a single thing about why he had approached him.

Qi Ze'an was so furious he nipped and kissed the little mole on Tang Muqiu's neck, sucking at it again and again.

He wanted to see when Tang Muqiu would finally obey him.

On the eve of the outbreak of the war against the alien species, Qi Ze'an finally understood everything Tang Muqiu had done for him.

The hardships Tang Muqiu had endured for his sake, the blood he had shed for him, all pierced Qi Ze'an's heart.

With red-rimmed eyes, Qi Ze'an demanded that Tang Muqiu tell him the truth.

But Tang Muqiu was clumsy. He had a clever-looking face that was cool and composed, yet he couldn't even manage a single word of explanation. He could only look away from Qi Ze'an.

Qi Ze'an kissed Tang Muqiu fiercely, but the kiss was exceptionally tender and lingering.

Just as Tang Muqiu awaited his sentence, Qi Ze'an's voice trembled. "...I love you."

An interview with a reporter after the war.

"Mr. Qi Ze'an, have you always known that Tang Muqiu is a Beta? What do you think about that?"

Qi Ze'an raised an eyebrow and pointed back at Tang Muqiu, who was receiving an award onstage.

The Silver Wolf clan had different customs from other races. They liked to wear cold, stern expressions and be fierce in bed, but afterward they would show affection with a detached air. The only way to tell how much they loved someone was by how vigorously their tails wagged.

Zeno firmly believed that someone like Feng Ciye must already know the Silver Wolf clan's customs. Surely he would take thoughtful care of him.

With that in mind, Zeno married Feng Ciye.

On the first day of his marriage to Feng Ciye, Zeno thought: He's so easily embarrassed.

In the first month of their marriage, Zeno thought: He loves me so much.

In the first year of their marriage, Zeno happened to overhear a conversation among Feng Ciye's friends and family.

At last, he learned how human customs differed from those of his own kind.

So all that love and affection had just been wishful thinking on his part.

Feng Ciye didn't like him at all.

Feng Ciye was a human-beast hybrid. His beastfolk lineage was unknown, but he was one of the finest among humans.
