[Detective Conan] Ran Mouri's Second Run

Blurb

One ordinary evening, Shinichi, her childhood friend whom she hadn't seen in over half a year, suddenly appeared before Ran.

He explained the truth behind his strange disappearances: he'd been caught up in the vortex of a huge international criminal organization.

Only then did Ran learn that Conan, who had been staying at her house all this time, was actually Shinichi, shrunk by a drug.

After investigating the organization on his own in secret, Shinichi had finally returned openly once he and the Japanese Public Security Bureau, the FBI, and others had destroyed it.

Ran hadn't realized so much had happened to Shinichi without her knowing.

At last, her childhood friend had come back, but Ran's first thought wasn't happiness...

The first things that came to mind were:

The time she'd bathed in the same tub as Conan; the way he'd be able to see up her skirt whenever he leaned in close; and her father's inexplicable tendency to fall asleep during every deduction.

Ran wanted to accept Shinichi's heartfelt confession after all they'd been through, but she just couldn't bring herself to say yes.

In the end, she fled, saying only that she wanted some time to think it over.

But what was there to think about?

In the midst of her confusion, Ran encountered a System.

The System gave her two choices: forgive Shinichi for deceiving her and be with him, or start everything over and build a life she could control.

Ran wasn't sure, but her instincts led her to choose the latter.

And so began an entirely different [main story].

*

It was only after encountering the Black Organization for real that Ran discovered that the people who had been around her all along had another side to them.

The little girl Haibara, who lived with Professor Agasa, was actually Sherry, a researcher in the organization who had been shrunk just like Shinichi.

The many-faced witch who had always called Ran "Angel" turned out to be Yukiko's friend, the famous star Sharon, who had also disguised herself as the employee at the Poirot Café, Kazami, and Riku...
