Synopsis
Fushiguro Chihiro met a man who gave her a cold look right from their first meeting. His personality was just as hard and unyielding.
No matter when or where, she had never seen Zenin Toji wear an expression other than a sneer, disdain, or some other negative emotion. It was as if he had been born only capable of showing displeasure.
This man had no vulnerable side at all.
Fushiguro Chihiro considered herself a bit of a troublemaker who liked adding color to a dull life, so she picked a new goal: make that man cry.
Fushiguro Chihiro tried taking Zenin Toji to exciting activities like bungee jumping and skydiving, the kind that left anyone dizzy.
But he remained unmoved, even lazily yawning.
Fushiguro Chihiro tried a gentler approach, too, watching five tearjerkers in a row with Zenin Toji, hoping to soften his hard exterior.
All she got was the man's offhand comment: "The lead actor could use some work."
Fushiguro Chihiro still wouldn't give up. She took Zenin Toji from place to place and tried every method she could think of, but nothing worked.
Just as she was about to give up, disaster struck without warning...
Fushiguro Chihiro was ambushed and dragged into the domain of a Special Grade Curse, where she died.

By the time Zenin Toji heard the news, Fushiguro Chihiro's body had already arrived, cold to the touch.
The man seemed utterly unmoved, and buried her with chilling indifference.
Then he went back to his old, dazed existence.
Zenin Toji ignored the calls asking where Fushiguro Chihiro was. He ignored the birthday surprise she had prepared for him before she died, ignored all the traces she had left throughout their shared home, and even ignored Fushiguro Chihiro standing right beside him...
The man suddenly raised his eyes, and there she was: Fushiguro Chihiro, looking a little guilty.
She was just about to explain how she had come back from the dead when she abruptly fell silent...
As she stared in shock and disbelief, Zenin Toji's expressionless eyes suddenly turned red.
With a soft "plop," a tear fell heavily into her heart.
She had succeeded in making this man cry.
P.S. 1. This is a short story. I started writing it solely to get with Toji.
2. There may be angst along the way, but it will definitely have a happy ending.
Theme: Stay optimistic, positive, and engaged with life.
