The Bai and Shen families arranged a betrothal for their children when they were young, but the two had never even met.
During a club tryout, a group of guys dragged Bai Yanzhou over to watch the younger students solve Rubik's Cubes. Pointing at the fair, pretty Shen Chuhe in the front row, they gossiped: "That junior is so cute! She's even cuter when she blushes because she can't solve the cube!"
"Come on, which one of you is going to ask the cutie for her contact info?"
Bai Yanzhou stood beside them, face cold and saying nothing.
Afterward, every other person at the tryout solved the cube within two minutes. Shen Chuhe, meanwhile, spent the entire class staring at hers without solving it.
When the tryout ended, Bai Yanzhou sneered expressionlessly. "You call someone this stupid cute? When did the club start recruiting idiots like her?"
After making his disdain perfectly clear, Bai Yanzhou coldly took the contact info his friend had gotten from her.
Later, at the sports meet, someone knocked Shen Chuhe down on the track. Bai Yanzhou shoved through the crowd and rushed over, lifting her into his arms, tenderness shining in his eyes. "Tell me where you hurt yourself."
The girl blushed and shook her head. Without a word, Bai Yanzhou carried her on his back and ran the rest of the way.
Everyone was dumbfounded. "Wasn't he the one who called the cutie stupid and clumsy?!"
After the race, Shen Chuhe rose onto her toes to wipe the sweat from Bai Yanzhou's temple. Her almond-shaped eyes were as bright as the moon, and her voice was soft. "Bai Yanzhou, are you tired?"
The boy smiled and leaned close to her, his voice slightly husky. "You don't know how much stamina I have?"
