Her godmother wondered how Tang Siyue managed to cheer Chen Lang up. Then she turned and saw Chen Lang lowering his head and avoiding her gaze, his eyes faintly red and his lashes damp. He stammered,
"I only have one small request. I want to stay by Siyue's side, even if I have no name or status... I only ask that you don't abandon me."
