Ceramic artist Chen Zheng and renowned painter Xiao Suo
Chen Zheng had been dating her girlfriend for two years. Just as her girlfriend was eagerly preparing for their wedding, she ended their relationship with one sentence: "I'm sorry. She's coming back."
Only then did Chen Zheng learn that, back in college, her girlfriend had loved a goddess she could never have. The woman was exceptional in every way, from her family background and appearance to her character. Bright and dazzling, she had gone abroad for further study after graduation and had already become an internationally renowned painter at a young age. Now she was about to return home, covered in honors.
That single rumor was enough to blow away the two years of love between Chen Zheng and her girlfriend.
Chen Zheng bought a plane ticket and went abroad to see her exhibition. She stood rooted in front of a painting titled "Clay" until a gentle voice sounded behind her. "Last year, while traveling back home, I passed through a little town and met a girl there."
Chen Zheng turned around. Beneath the dim gallery lights, Xiao Suo looked at her with a smile in her eyes. Her sleeves were rolled up, revealing slender, strong forearms, and she held out a hand to Chen Zheng. "Was it you?"
At that moment, Chen Zheng finally understood what it meant for the wind to rise, and for a heart to stir.
In a foreign land, two souls from the same place reunited and collided. Chen Zheng fell into a trap called tenderness, and was more than happy to stay there.
By then, Chen Zheng knew better than her ex just how wonderful Xiao Suo was.
Little skit:
On the day Xiao Suo returned home, she heard that her college classmates were holding a reunion to welcome her back. She happily accepted.
At the reunion that day, as Xiao Suo led Chen Zheng to her seat, Chen Zheng saw her ex's face twist in shock and nearly burst out laughing.
That evening, as soon as they got home, Xiao Suo pinned Chen Zheng against the door and kissed her until she could barely breathe. A possessive glint flashed in those usually gentle eyes. "You smiled at her. Are you still not over her?"
Her ex, who had followed them, knocked loudly on the door. Chen Zheng wrapped her legs around Xiao Suo's waist, answering with her actions that those feelings were long gone.
Outside the door, wind and rain raged. Inside, the room was filled with springtime warmth.
Little skit 2:
During her vacation, Xiao Suo returned home to travel and passed through a little town. In the misty rain, a young woman in plain clothes sat beside a wooden door with her sleeves rolled up, her nimble fingertips smoothing the rough surface of a clay form. She was utterly focused and absorbed.
It was a beautiful scene, except for the ill-fitting person beside her.
After finishing the painting, she let word spread that she was returning home. Sure enough, she heard that the two had broken up. Then, with a flyer for her exhibition, the young woman appeared before her in person.
Only later did Chen Zheng realize that the part of her ex she had fallen in love with was a reflection borrowed from Xiao Suo.
