Top's perspective:
When the top first sees the bottom, the bottom is sitting on another man's lap. He's wearing a white shirt with three buttons undone, casually sipping from a glass. Amber liquor traces his collarbone and disappears beneath his clothes, releasing an intoxicating fragrance.
The bottom notices the top looking at him and raises his glass with a smile. His beautiful fox eyes narrow into an enticing curve, making the man holding him unhappy. The man tightens his arm around the bottom's waist.
The top looks at him, a restless fire igniting beneath his immaculate suit. He wants to take the bottom for himself and taste the liquor on his lips.
Unfortunately, he can't.
The bottom is not only his father's adopted son, but also his older brother's lover.
What would it take to make him his?
Bottom's perspective:
When the bottom sees the top, a crowd surrounds him, celebrating the return of the biological son his adoptive father carefully raised. Bored, the bottom sits in a man's arms and drinks, until he notices the gaze of this honored young master.
What a familiar look!
The bottom can't help feeling excited. Every man who wants him looks at him like that, including the man holding him.
So he raises his glass to the top.
Sure enough, the top's eyes practically catch fire.
The bottom begins to think with delight: What would my adoptive father think if I lured this much-anticipated young master astray?

[Reader's Guide]
1. Old-school style. Both die, together, neither before the other, dying happily in each other's arms.
2. The romance between the bottom and the main top is not angsty. They are soulmates, devoted to each other, and each other's one true love. Their deaths are driven by fate.
3. The bottom is not a virgin. He has many scenes with other people, and the main top's older brother forces his love on him extensively. The top's brother competes with the top for the bottom, and there are also an unspecified number of minor tops. The bottom's first time is with neither the top's brother nor the top. Don't read if that bothers you.
4. I originally wanted to write an open ending, but the idea of lovers embracing as they die seemed so romantic that I decided to have them both die.
5. Another inspiration for this story was Mencius: King Hui of Liang, Part One. It's the story of a knife that gradually develops a conscience.
6. The world is dark, the relationships are complicated, and every aspect is grim.
7. The old-fashioned style would be considered a warning sign by today's standards, and I don't know how to list everything.
