We have so much in common. You always understand what I mean when I can't say it, and what I don't mean when I say it. You never hesitate to help me. I don't have to suck up to you or give anything up for you to come to me on your own. And who is that person? Me, myself, of course. (Not really.)
The feelings between boys and girls in their teens are like transparent candy wrappers. You think you can see through them, but maybe they're just an illusion. Even the sweetness lingering in the air seems so ephemeral, yet it never quite fades.
A simple, sweet high school campus romance. One true pairing, happy ending.
If you'd like to read about the short story's protagonists in college and after they start working, check out the ongoing story next door, Neighbors with My Ex-Boyfriend [Getting Back Together].
All provincial and place names, as well as song titles not attributed to real-life works, are fictional.
My dears, my next contemporary college campus romance is Blue Lemonade. Here's the blurb. Please support it!
■ Primarily set on a college campus | One true pairing | Happy ending
1.
"I dreamed about someone I really didn't want to see yesterday."
"Silly, dreams are the opposite of reality."
"But that person was you, so does that mean... you dreamed about me?"
How terrifying!
2.
Because of a bet, Chui Yiqi and Gu Tongshu become a "couple" for a month. They had the title of childhood friends, but in reality, they hadn't been in touch much for years.
The two used to be sworn enemies as children. During their month as a couple, Gu Tongshu is completely different from before. He really does act like a proper boyfriend, bringing Chui Yiqi breakfast and snacks, keeping her company at the library, and even coming to pick her up with an umbrella when it rains.
Just as Chui Yiqi is puzzling over whether Gu Tongshu is fulfilling some other bet, the month passes peacefully in no time.
One day, Gu Tongshu invites her to dinner at an upscale restaurant. Chui Yiqi sees the time and realizes it's time for their "breakup meal."
"I know today's the day we break up. You didn't have to go all out and waste money," Chui Yiqi says, looking around the restaurant.
"Wrong. You're supposed to say it's the one-month anniversary of our relationship."
Chui Yiqi: ? What exactly is the misunderstanding here?
3.
"Like bubbles rising endlessly in blue lemonade, I can't hide how much I like you."
