Brandy is a background character in a romantic comedy manga. His only role is to handle mountains of paperwork behind the pink, lovey-dovey bubbles between the Demon King and the princess.

He worked diligently for years, until one day he awakened to his own will.

Yesterday, an office drone. Today, a usurper.

Once again, his name is Brandy, the new Demon King.

But nobody told him... why does the Demon King still have to follow the plot?!

As he follows the plot, Brandy realizes that the characters are all acting strangely:

The Hero, who was supposed to fight the Demon King tooth and nail over the princess, accidentally kills her with one swing of his hand.

The second female lead, who was supposed to fall in love with the Demon King at first sight, smoothly transforms into a workaholic.

The deadpan captain of the guards, who was supposed to be ordered to search for the princess, decisively switches sides after hearing a prophecy...

The plot is falling apart, so the Demon King patches it back together.

During the secret nighttime meeting scene, Brandy and the Hero stare at each other over the dead princess. Then Brandy picks up the crown lying in a pool of blood and, faster than the eye can follow, puts it on the Hero's head.

Whoever kills the princess becomes the princess.

Even if the characters go off-script, the story must go on.

And when the story finally ends, Brandy plans to leave the manga world, but to his surprise, he discovers that amid all the admiration and glory, he has already donned the royal robes and become the king this world recognizes.
