A bad-luck-ridden but tenacious stray-dog-type bottom x a calm, powerful, guiding immortal top
Qu Cheng has always been unlucky.
He’s bound to trip over something when he walks, and gets water down the wrong way when he drinks. The year he was born, the underground city suffered a famine and was hit by a once-in-a-century dust rain.
The decision he regrets most in his life was going to the train station to steal food when there was nothing left to eat at home.
Never mind whether he managed to get any food. He’s now trapped on a train headed for the radiation-exposed surface, and death is just around the corner.
He never expected there to be someone else on the train, someone whose origins were a mystery.
The other man subdued him in no time. With the train about to leave the shelter, Qu Cheng had no choice but to beg Shen Lanshan for mercy.
“Bro, I don’t want to die.”
Shen Lanshan gripped the back of his neck and pinned him against the control console. “You have to take responsibility for your choices. If you want me to save you, you’ll have to show me you’re worth it.”
Qu Cheng nodded as hard as he could.
The countdown to death shattered Qu Cheng’s survival rules for good:
He steals supplies, and Shen Lanshan blows up the entire transport hub.
He breaks out of prison, and Shen Lanshan opens every cell door ahead of time.
He’s badly injured, and at last a trace of emotion appears on Shen Lanshan’s face.
Qu Cheng feels as if he’s accidentally discovered an unusually tender side of Shen Lanshan.
“What was the price you said I’d have to pay?”
With disaster bearing down on them, Qu Cheng can’t help. If they have to go their separate ways, he can’t even run fast enough.
He just trails after Shen Lanshan like an accessory...
Shen Lanshan brushes the dust off his clothes and stands. “I made that up.”
He glances down, looks Qu Cheng over from head to toe, then takes the metal ring from Qu Cheng’s zipper and slips it onto his own ring finger.
“This can count as the price.”

Shen Lanshan hates dealing with kids the most.
They’re ignorant and stupid, and they ruin everything he’s arranged.
But, as luck would have it, while he was secretly transporting supplies from the underground city to the surface, a kid showed up on the train carrying them.
Qu Cheng seems to have bad luck clinging to him.
He touches the train’s control console, and the train loses control the very next second.
He stands by the train window, and something outside is sure to come crashing into it.
If he gets more than two meters away from Shen Lanshan, something else is bound to set its sights on him.
Shen Lanshan rubs his forehead, but he can’t just leave him alone.
So when the train is wrecked, he takes Qu Cheng on foot. When the glass shatters, he pulls Qu Cheng out of the way. When something targets them, he takes Qu Cheng and runs for his life.
Whenever Qu Cheng has a bout of bad luck, Shen Lanshan makes a new discovery while solving the mystery.
It seems he’s found another way to make bad luck work...
So Shen Lanshan patiently teaches this carefree idiot how to stay alive in the apocalypse, but Qu Cheng doesn’t seem to learn a thing.
When disaster strikes, Shen Lanshan tells Qu Cheng to run, but Qu Cheng insists on saving him, treating his wounds, and laboriously dragging him along.
“If we die, we’re dying together...” the idiot says.
A menace. Shen Lanshan smiles to himself. Menaces live for a thousand years.

A quick plug for my ongoing novel of the same type, I Want to Be an Astronaut When I Grow Up
In 1999, on the last day of the century, Lin Ran is about to board a spacecraft.
A snowy live broadcast is being shown on televisions around the world.
A leader pats him on the shoulder. “When you complete your mission and come back, you’ll be a hero to all humanity.”
Lin Ran never really thought about becoming a hero.
His reason for wanting to be an astronaut was very, very childish and simple.
His older brother said he’d become a star after he died...
So Lin Ran really did go to space, just to see his brother again.
Before stepping into the rocket, Lin Ran thinks about why he’s going to space and finds it funny.
*
He never expected the mission to go wrong...
When two suns appear in his view through the porthole, Lin Ran stares at the scorching blue sun no one has ever seen before, then collapses straight to the floor.
When he opens his eyes, Chen Shuangjiang, who died in the line of duty when Lin Ran was seventeen, is standing in front of him.
His brother is calling him to get up.
Lin Ran racks his brain, but can’t figure out which memory from their past he’s dreaming about. In the end, he gives up thinking.
I really want to kiss him.
I’m going to die soon anyway. I might as well let myself go.
So he kisses his brother...
Lin Ran has the nerve to do it but not the guts to face the consequences. Afraid his brother will come to his senses and beat him up, he turns and runs as soon as the kiss is over, only to find that the windows at home are sealed shut.
Chen Shuangjiang grabs him by the collar and turns him around.
Lin Ran turns back sheepishly. “Bro...”

You insist I find the culprit in an urban legend?
Theme: Study hard and keep improving every day
I hate hydrogen peroxide hahahahaha
You get rich by laughing, right? The fortune teller on the roadside? Then I have too much say. What I said doesn't count. I know it myself, but I still insist on saying it. Not only did I say it, but I also said a few words. In the end, the calculation was not accurate, and then I asked for money.
It's okay if they're not brothers, let's knock together
Oranges have grown (wipe away tears)
I always have a bad feeling... The author doesn't want to sacrifice the little flower to the sky, right? [Hold up the chin]
It would be great if it could be adapted into a comic book. I feel that it depicts a very strange "outside world", but I can't imagine it, so I can only put the scenes from "Dune" into it.
I'm lucky enough to have finished reading this story. I was attracted by the copywriting, and my favorite and most anticipated content, the "iron ring", was not described in the article, which is a bit regretful. However, looking at the full text, I am still willing to give high praise to the characters created by the author, the emotions and plots depicted. I generally hold the idea that no matter what I do, I need encouragement and support. This idea became stronger after reading it, so this comment appeared. Before talking about this article in detail, I want to give the author a hug and hold you for your tears and grievances. At the same time, thank you very much for writing these words and presenting this story before our eyes. In terms of plot: First of all, praise the author. A 300,000-word apocalyptic-themed novel is considered a short story to me personally, at most a short or medium-length novel. (I'm talking about reading here. If I were to evaluate it in terms of writing, 300,000 words is definitely not a small amount.) Since it is a short story, it must be "streamlined". Otherwise, the writing will be complicated, difficult to finish, and it will be easy for people to miss the key points. There will be more minor problems, after all, the word count is there. After looking at the column, I saw that the author is a new author and it is his first time trying this kind of subject. As a newcomer, it was already great to finish writing this story, and the author also gave me more surprises. As I mentioned in the preface, the minor flaws basically did not appear in this article. Generally speaking, the main plot of the article is very clear, the branch plots are also well distributed, and the characters introduced have their "reasons" for appearing. Here is an explanation of the meaning of the word reason: Sometimes, the appearance of some characters gives me a feeling that it is completely unnecessary, and it also makes me wonder what the author means by writing this character. Is it just to improve the word count? This article is fine, but since this aspect has been mentioned, I also make a suggestion: group portrait articles are good, but if the plot is not completed, it will easily make people feel that the main characters are hollow. For example, Xiaohua and Uncle Ming in the article have a family line. Later I saw the importance of Xiaohua to Xiaochengzi, but I actually didn't feel Uncle Ming's influence on Xiaochengzi. Most of the time, little flowers are mentioned. As for Lin Ling, who is considered the villain boss in the article, I don't think her identity is just an ordinary supporting role in this article, so I think she lacks shaping. She is a ruler and a dictator, so I think such a person must be cold and cruel. But her writings always give me a sense of immediacy, as if she is always letting things slip and leaving trouble for the future. This makes the plot look a bit strange sometimes. Of course, in the final analysis, this article only has 300,000 words. Being able to construct a complete story with 300,000 words is already amazing. But what surprised me the most was the relationship between the two protagonists. In plot-oriented articles, I really like looking for "love". Qu Cheng is just a seventeen-year-old boy who has lived in a harsh environment since he was a child. He has not learned "bad" and does not know what "good" is. He is sincere, pure and brave. Looking back on this article, it is like his growth history. Shen Lanshan and I witnessed his growth together. As for Shen Lanshan, the first feeling he gave me was actually heavy, just like his name. He carries a hundred years of history on his back, has witnessed the deaths of countless people, and endured all kinds of emotions. When the two met, it was like a spark igniting a dead tree. The elderly man's emotions, which had long been numb, finally fluctuated again. Shen Lanshan took Qu Cheng on a train to cross the boundary between upper and lower. A rope connected their bodies and walked in the desert. Qu Cheng saw the real sky for the first time, and breathed the real air for the first time - even if it was thin, even if it was painful, at least it was all real. The hand of fate pushed them forward, crisis after crisis, and saving each other again and again. In Qu Cheng's heart, Shen Lanshan saved him many times. Without Shen Lanshan, his life might have come to an end. But in Shen Lanshan's heart, isn't Qu Cheng always saving him? I really like the interaction between Qu Cheng and Shen Lanshan... The two of them made me feel soft. I really couldn't bear to leave it after reading it. Looking forward to the follow-up extra QAQ Shen Lanshan's eternal life setting feels so cruel. Will Little Chengzi be able to stay with him in the future? Hope everyone is doing well. Not only everyone in the article, but also the people who created this story, should do well. Finally, I wish the author will no longer use pain as inspiration for creation and live the life he wants.
"Change the topic." This is a big bug for the author~
