Black Jasmine

On our wedding night, I knew he didn't love me.

That night, he said he'd had too much to drink and was tired.

I thought he was probably saving himself for someone else.

He married me only because I was ordinary enough to be one of China's countless virtuous wives.

For the three years I was married to him, I did nothing but run a shop and take care of him. He never touched me once. You must think I had a miserable life, right? Actually, I didn't. Just being able to live with him, even if all I could do was look at him, made me happier than anything.

Maybe Heaven took pity on me. One day, he was hit by a car while trying to save his first love, who had just returned to the country, and lost his memory.

I told him I was the love of his life.

I, who had never told a lie, became a master liar.
