On what must be day number who-knows-what of the apocalypse, Fu Zigeng and his friends have been through awakened abilities, a fallen home, evading zombie hordes, searching for rescue, and meeting companions. At last, their flight comes to an end when they enter a northern safe zone with their friends.
As they step through the facility gates, everyone cheers, tears in their eyes as they embrace one another. They thank their friend, the team's leader, and, overcome with emotion, remember to praise Fu Zigeng for all the delicious meals he's cooked.
Three months later, while returning to the safe zone from the wasteland after a routine supply run, Fu Zigeng is kicked out of his new team.
His former teammates have probably been sick of him for a long time. Before leaving, one of them even spits out the car window, humiliating him, a peerless expert with three special abilities. "So what if you have a bunch of abilities? You're just a freeloading burden who can't do anything. Get lost!"
With that, the person hits the gas and drives off with the others, leaving Fu Zigeng alone in a cloud of dust.
Fu Zigeng: ...I should eat first.
Fu Zigeng finds a place to live, plants crops, and builds a fence. After being attacked by a lone wanderer from the wasteland, he gains a new companion, originally a lone wanderer, who can't resist his delicious cooking.
On some day-who-knows-what since being thrown out of the safe zone, someone pounds on Fu Zigeng's door. When he opens it, his long-lost friend is standing outside, red-eyed and frowning, immediately launching into a barrage of questions: Why didn't you come back if you were still alive? You plan to live here? You don't even know when you'll die!
But before his friend can finish, their gaze shifts and lands on several strangers behind Fu Zigeng, holding bowls and helping themselves to food.
"Who is this? Why are they talking like they're so familiar with you?" Fu Zigeng's new companion, who freeloads on his food, is the first to laugh. Their eyes are full of suspicion and their tone is provocative. "This isn't your house, is it?"
That's right, Fu Zigeng thinks. His home feels more like a cafeteria now.
