Better to Practice Swordsmanship Than Read the News

On a certain day in a certain month of a certain year, the Heavenly Dao sent a message to Qinghe Monastery. One of the disciples in the sect would one day fall in love with Luo Xinghe, the most beautiful person in the world. Together, they would experience a passionate, life-and-death romance that shook the Three Realms and went down in history. The elders were to ensure that everything proceeded smoothly. Otherwise, if the natural order and heavenly fate were to clash, destiny would fall into chaos and disaster might follow. Everyone fell silent. After a moment, Elder Number One, who had been on the job for barely a year, asked, “What does the Main System mean?” Another elder, with three years of experience, said, “I think it's asking us to bring the male lead and the love interest together.” Everyone suddenly understood. How hard could that be? Then they looked at the legendary male lead who fell in love with Luo Xinghe at first sight, became deeply devoted to him, drove away all his rivals, weathered countless conflicts and breakups, nearly fell into demonic cultivation, but never stopped loving him. His name, it turned out, was Pei Zhuo. Everyone cried out, “This is way too hard!” Pei Zhuo, the most beloved disciple of Lord Yunshang, is raising wild boars in the middle of nowhere. He opens a tabloid with portraits of everyone on the martial strength rankings, and a hundred-word essay praising Luo Xinghe's looks suddenly floods his mind. Pei Zhuo closes the tabloid and tries to remember who Luo Xinghe is. Nothing comes to mind. Pei Zhuo opens the tabloid again, and a three-hundred-word essay gushing over Luo Xinghe's figure is forced into his mind. Pei Zhuo closes the tabloid. Everything seems normal. Pei Zhuo: “?” After the only son of the Heavenly Emperor dies, his divine soul splits into several fragments and enters the cycle of reincarnation in the mortal world. Each fragment is born with good fortune and is fated to compete with the others. According to legend, one of them will eventually absorb the divine power within all the fragments and ascend to immortality. The Demon Venerable Ji Fusheng is one of the fragments, the undefeated champion of the martial strength rankings and the leading candidate in everyone's eyes. In his youth, he received a prophecy that he would suffer the worst heartbreak of his life during the struggle between the fragments, falling short at the last moment and losing everything. The Demon Venerable scoffed at the idea. Love and romance could only get in the way of his cultivation! Then, on a certain day in a certain month of a certain year, Ji Fusheng finally couldn't hold back and asked Pei Zhuo, “Do you really like Luo Xinghe's looks that much?” Pei Zhuo: “I don't like him, though?” Ji Fusheng stared at him gloomily, remembering how it took Pei Zhuo half a year to recognize what his “friend” looked like. Then he said, “Then do you remember what Luo Xinghe looks like?” Pei Zhuo knew this one. He immediately pulled out the tabloid, took a look, closed it, and mechanically recited fifty words of praise. You call that not liking him? You call that not liking him? Ji Fusheng sneered inwardly. Sooner or later, he'd crush all those fragments to pieces! They were such an eyesore! * Pei Zhuo x Ji Fusheng, one-on-one, both sexually inexperienced * A smiling fox of a pursuer, human on the outside but wild at heart x a cold, taciturn Demon Venerable who (thinks he) cares only about cultivation * Some supporting characters won't leave the story for a long time. Character art was drawn by a friend and commissioned by a reader. Many thanks! Theme: Face one another as you truly are
