The real and fake unattainable first love / A first love gone rotten / Can a broken mirror be mended? / Just as the title says
A wicked woman and a possessive female ghost
Blurb One:
A mission went wrong when our contact made a mistake, forcing me to hide. I climbed through a window along the way and accidentally broke into someone else's bathroom. The room was thick with steam. Before I could react, a cold weapon pressed against my lower back.
I sneered. After surviving on these streets for so long, I knew when to bend. I threw down all my weapons, raised both hands, and let her tie me to a chair.
The woman's wet black hair dripped water. As the steam cleared, her face looked somewhat pale. She stared at me for a long time, a strange smile curling her lips. The sharp tip of a knife slid under my chin. A little pressure would break the skin and draw blood.
The woman said nonchalantly, "You look a lot like my late wife."
I glanced at her scornfully. "Are you cursing me?"
That night, she handcuffed me to the bedpost.
She opened the bedside table drawer after drawer, taking out a barbed whip. Looking down at me, she gripped my collar with one hand and leaned in very close. Her oppressive presence filled the room.
Her hot, damp breath fell across my face, my lips, and my ear as she spoke...
"You have two choices: a hundred lashes, or... please me."
Blurb Two:
The second time we met, the woman was dressed in black, holding a huge bouquet of white roses as she stood before a grave. In the rain, her figure looked desolate and forlorn. Hidden in the shadows, I sneered. "Tch. Who are you trying to fool?"
Blurb Three:
I often ask Si Yingcen, why me, out of so many people? Why cling to me like a ghost gone mad, refusing to let go no matter how hard I try to shake you off?
She looked at me with a possessive, profound gaze. Her hand touched the crescent-shaped jade pendant in my arms. Smiling, she pulled me close, kissed the top of my head, and said gently, "No, I was wrong. I love you."
But from where she couldn't see me, I covered my mouth and laughed until I trembled, trying desperately to hold it in...
Can you tell the difference, Si Yingcen?
Am I the moon in the sky, or a phantom reflection in a foul ditch, formed by the moonlight?
Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference? Can you tell the difference?... Si Yingcen.
This is just too funny!
Si Yingcen, I keep wondering: when you learn the truth, will you kill me?
Ah, I can't wait to find out...
But it doesn't matter. I'll drag you to hell with me, with my own hands.
Reading guide:
1. The main story is told in third person.
2. An entirely fictional setting, with lots of original worldbuilding.
3. The female leads are seriously flawed.
4. I'll think about it.
