Qi Shi is a Shanghai native and a rich second-generation heir. He looks like an aimless layabout with nothing better to do, investing a little here and getting involved a little there.

He opens coffee shops, starts livestreams, and forms esports clubs. His greatest characteristic: he loves his wife.

Ji Nian is a graduate student in transportation engineering at Tongji University's Jiading Campus and a rail transit engineer at an urban construction design institute. He wants to make a home in the city where he lives.

There are no perfectly good people or absolutely evil ones. Much of this is artistic embellishment based on reality, mainly to move the plot along and help the protagonists grow.
