MBTI: ENFJ vs. INFP

Seven years after meeting his ex-boyfriend again, Xu Congyan discovers the man is juggling several jobs: performing at commercial events, delivering food, and singing at bars?

He never imagined Zhong Yi had fallen so far. With a grand wave of his hand, Xu Congyan scanned the code and sent him three huge flower garlands.

Zhong Yi: "Thank you, Mr. Xu, for the flower garlands."

Xu Congyan: "If you can't hold your liquor, why not refuse?"

Zhong Yi smiled ingratiatingly. "As long as Mr. Xu is happy, it's fine. I can drink."

Xu Congyan: ...

Money makes the world go round. Zhong Yi doesn't just turn the millstone, he can plow another two acres for the boss, too!

Xu Congyan, owner of Lightverse Stage Design, is a mature, reserved heartthrob in the eyes of outsiders, an old iron tree no one has ever managed to win over.

Perfume, playlists, cigarettes... He seems especially attached to certain things.

And they all have something to do with Zhong Yi.

They meet again at a school in the pastoral region of Ulanqab.

Zhong Yi unexpectedly becomes a volunteer teacher, while Xu Congyan is there to inspect a school for charity performances.

Xu Congyan decides on the spot to stay.

He'll win his own husband back himself. He makes sure Zhong Yi can't ignore him, and finally moves him enough to start their relationship anew.

Xu Congyan: "Zhong Yi, come back with me, okay?"

Zhong Yi: "Okay."

Zhong Yi is an original singer who was blacklisted for years. He's no longer in the industry, but his legend lives on.

His famous single, "Butterfly Train," has stayed on the charts for years.

When he returns to Tongzhou, he's determined to reclaim everything that belongs to him.

But while filming a music competition show, his former agency boss smears him.

He trends online, gets put on the blacklist, and is accused of buying votes...

They even claim his songs aren't original.

This time, Xu Congyan stands firmly by Zhong Yi.

In the face of baseless accusations and slander, they let their talent speak for itself.

Though there's no rain tonight, the butterfly is still the same one.

"The wind on Mount Kailash heard it: This life and the next are both in my hands."

Jinsen and his boyfriend had an accident while hiking in the snowy mountains, and narrowly survived.

After that, he stopped caring whether he lived or died, and saw no light in the future.

In the Year of the Horse, he sold his car and house, left a farewell note, and set out with his boyfriend to circumambulate Mount Kailash.

The wind and snow were fierce, but there were no tears in his eyes. He said,

"We'll be together again in our next life."

Unexpectedly, a stranger heard him say it.

Gama Rangxia, heir to the Gangqin Winery, met Jinsen on the pilgrimage route.

He said, "Make two more circuits, and may your next life be whole."

Beneath the snapping prayer flags, Jinsen gazed at the snowy white summit and said that sounded good.

This life had too many regrets. In the next, he'd live differently.

Three circuits around Mount Kailash, four days and three nights.

On the final night, Daxia said there was a highly revered monk in Lhasa, renowned for enlightening people and guiding them to rebirth.

Jinsen believed him and got into the Jeep.

As they left, the howling wind from the summit swept away their photograph together.

Only later did Jinsen learn there was no revered monk to enlighten him.

It was simply a chance, amid the teeming mortal world, to discover the possibility of living again.

-

Gama Rangxia: "There's a mole on the back of your neck... I've heard it's called a heartache mole."

Jinsen reached back to cover it, but his ears burned.

He knew perfectly well that the other man had already seen everything, whether he should have or not.

The man suffering from altitude sickness in the bathroom had skin white as satin, a slender waist, and a slight build.

While helping him wipe himself down, a fingertip accidentally brushed that mole, stirring forbidden thoughts.

And now, Gama Rangxia could no longer hold back.

He turned Jinsen over, tugged open his collar, and kissed his neck, biting and licking it gently.

Jinsen pushed him away, his voice trembling.

"Don't, Daxia. Let me go..."

The incense stick burned down in silence, and Gama Rangxia finally stopped.

The clear bite mark on the back of Jinsen's neck stood out like a brand.

Gama Rangxia closed his eyes, knowing they could no longer be just friends.

-

Gama Rangxia, a Tibetan jack-of-all-trades, as free as the wind, yet brought to a standstill by a broken heart.

"I don't believe in the next life. I only want you in this one."

Jinsen, a former outdoor guide (now behaving himself), who never realized he was flirting, steps into his world one step at a time.

"Every time he said, 'Come with me,' I took him seriously."
