Yu Tan was once an urn spirit deep in a mountain cemetery.
A hole in his urn let in the wind, leaving him empty and lonely for hundreds of years.
One day, a gloomy man came to visit a grave and left him a bunch of flowers, plugging the hole.
Yu Tan could tell the man didn't have long to live, so he resolved to use his own body to take care of the man's remains as repayment.
To legally and smoothly inherit the man's ashes after his death, Yu Tan found a matchmaker to arrange a blind date between them.
Who knew that at the blind date banquet, he and the man would both be dragged into a horror game?
The gloomy man died a tragic death. Yu Tan was overjoyed, immediately lit a fire, and cremated him on the spot.
That night, Yu Tan avoided the other players and was just about to secretly swallow the man's ashes when a pair of cold, pale arms suddenly reached out from behind and gently hooked around his little finger.
The dead man came back and asked him, "Mr. Yu, I like you very much. Can we keep dating?"
The game instance ended, and the blind dates continued.
The two were "perfectly in love" and got engaged without a hitch.
Then, during their engagement banquet, they were sucked into another horror game.
His gloomy fiance died a tragic death, his head severed from his body.
Yu Tan was ecstatic. The next moment, the bloodied head in his hands opened its mouth and asked, "Tan-Tan, I like you so much. Will you marry me?"
After leaving the game instance, Yu Tan and the man registered their marriage and became legally married husbands.
In the middle of their wedding banquet, the horror game came calling once more.
His gloomy husband drank a bowl of highly poisonous soup and died a tragic death. Yu Tan wept with joy, burying his face against the man's chest and sobbing, "Darling! You're finally dead!"
But the man kissed him through bloodied tears. "Honey, I'm not dead yet. I love you so much. Let's go on our honeymoon, okay?"
"I'll cling to you forever and ever and ever. Not even death can tear us apart."
"It's fine if you die, darling. Just remember to leave your ashes to me."
An urn-spirit widower bottom whose husband keeps dying x a gloomy, lovesick ghost top who is a psychiatrist
Reader's guide:
1. 1v1, happy ending. [This story is absolutely unhinged, bizarre, and downright hellish, with lots of horror elements and dark jokes. Read with caution.]
2. The bottom has a strong married-widower vibe, a gloomy ghostly personality, and spends his days depressed and in tears. He's terrified of being empty and lonely, and hopes his husband will hurry up and die so the ashes can fill the hole in his urn (?).
3. The top is a doctor at a psychiatric hospital, and he's also mentally ill himself. He's sunny and gentle on the surface, but dark and jealous underneath: a hopelessly lovesick ghost who likes to haunt his wife and cling to her relentlessly.
4. This is part of the same series as I Can Keep You Until Five. The top is Liu Buhua's psychiatrist. You can read this without having read the other story, but if you have read it, you'll be even more interested (not really).
5. The title came from a reader's username. Hahahaha, she's a genius!
