Xu Huaichao is the Crown Prince, but his younger imperial brothers are always trying to steal his throne.
"You want my throne, little brother? Then don't blame your older brother for taking your wife."
-
A rumor is spreading through the capital: The tyrannical Crown Prince Xu Huaichao has recently taken a new favorite, named Yan Yin, whom he dotes on like a precious jewel. The poor thing has an injured right leg and limps when he walks.
But everyone in the Eastern Palace knows that Yan Yin isn't the Crown Prince's favorite. He's the Crown Prince's little treasure. So what if his right leg is injured? As long as the Crown Prince is around, Yan Yin never has to walk by himself.
Later, Third Prince Xu Huaiyin tries to abduct the limping favorite and use him to threaten the Crown Prince in his bid for the throne. Instead, he discovers that this favorite is the secret lover and personal guard he's been desperately searching for over the past year. Reunited with the love of his life, Xu Huaiyin thinks he can rekindle things with Yan Yin, but Yan Yin has lost his memory and doesn't remember him. Worse, he's had the Crown Prince's name tattooed on his body.
-
Yan Yin used to be called Awu. He was Third Prince Xu Huaiyin's personal guard, his most loyal blade, and his lover.
Xu Huaiyin once promised him they'd be together for life, but he loved the throne more. He wanted to marry a general's daughter, and he wanted Awu, too. What kind of wishful thinking was that?
So Awu escaped Xu Huaiyin's dark chamber, gravely wounded, and sought out the Crown Prince. "I hear Your Highness is troubled over a wedding gift for the Third Prince. Why not kill me and give him my head as a present?"
The Crown Prince replied, "I won't kill you. I'll give you a new name. From now on, you belong to me."
Awu agreed. The Crown Prince gave him the new name Yan Yin, meaning 'loathe Yin.' Awu liked his new name so much that he forgot his old one, along with everything in his past.
[Formerly a taciturn, decisive personal guard, now an amnesiac, unhinged, disabled receiver x possessive, insane, rabid-dog Crown Prince gong]
The receiver has completely lost his memory, and it will never come back. His memories will never again include his past with the scum gong.
The scum gong is Third Prince Xu Huaiyin.
The real gong is Crown Prince Xu Huaichao (zhao, first tone).
[Trigger warnings]:
A 1v1 romance with a gong change, full of melodramatic gong-changing angst! The scum gong gets his just deserts! Only the scum gong suffers; the real gong and receiver have nothing but sweet scenes!
The real gong is a genuine rabid dog, and the receiver becomes unhinged after losing his memory. Two lunatics, while the scum gong is the only normal one (?)
This story is really different from my previous works. It's a self-indulgent experiment, so please proceed with caution!
