After the White Moonlight Ascended, the Slacking Emperor Panicked

Before she met Qin Lingyi, Jun Chenyi was a slacker of a crown prince.

She was so determined to slack off that she would rather leave the palace, wander the land, and be hunted than follow the usual path of marrying a crown princess and preparing to ascend the throne. That is, until she met the person destined to be her other half.

That person became the unattainable love of her life.

Qin Lingyi knew nothing of the Crown Prince. Disguised as a young Daoist, she came to the capital with a Daoist immortal to subdue demonic energy. By chance, she entered the palace and happened to stay in the future crown princess's residence, Fangyi Hall.

To Qin Lingyi, Jun Chenyi was an ordinary person who, though plain-looking, had the bearing of a gentleman.

The Crown Prince shared her name, but was far too handsome. Qin Lingyi honestly insisted that she had never met her.

All she wanted was to exorcise and capture demons, but fate kept forcing her to meet the Crown Prince.

This set Qin Lingyi on the path to ascending and becoming a divine being who knows destiny, while Jun Chenyi gave up her slacker ways for good.

A memorable excerpt from the story:

Before court began, she had asked Eunuch Li to tell everyone to suspend work on the Temple of Knowing Destiny.

Eunuch Li stammered, unsure how to persuade Jun Chenyi, and could only speak frankly: "Your Majesty, please think carefully. The temple is where the people's hopes lie."

How could she not know? So she decided to bring it up in court and discuss it with her ministers.

They all agreed that becoming a divine being who knows destiny was an indispensable trial on the path to immortality. Nothing in a dream could be applied to reality. Jun Chenyi had said that the half-built temple would collapse, but right now the divine being who knows destiny meant everything to every person. Each of them was overseeing the temple's construction, and unless Heaven itself intervened, what Jun Chenyi had described could never happen.

Jun Chenyi knew all this too. Even so, she chose to follow her heart and keep building the temple for her!

No matter what her current status was, the divine being who knows destiny was the will of the people. She deserved it, absolutely!
