Le Shengyi grew up with his grandparents in a small county town. The summer he turned seventeen, his parents, who had always been busy working away from home, struck it rich. They came home and said they would take him to the city to live the good life, then enrolled him in an elite school.
On the first day of school, Le Shengyi immediately spotted a gloomy, cold-faced person sitting in the last row. It was the friend he'd shared meals with in City C.
Even more surprising, this friend was the sole heir to the Gu and Lin families.
He happily went over, completely oblivious to the astonished looks around him and the wide berth everyone gave the boy.
"What a coincidence! We're in the same class."
What Le Shengyi didn't know was that the boy in front of him had arranged their meeting.
The obedient, sweet boy who depended on him had been watching him all along.
Gu Xi held back, waiting for the perfect moment to build a gilded cage around him, ensnare him, and make him his.
His increasingly intense possessiveness made Le Shengyi realize something was wrong, but he had already fallen into the vast web the boy had spun for him, trapped deep inside.
"Shengsheng, don't look at them. Promise me you'll only like me, okay?"

Check out my upcoming novel next door, told from the top's POV: [The Introvert's Sidekick]
[The top seems universally disliked, but is actually universally adored! He's a very cute but insecure sweetheart. A poor, perfect first love and a cocky, cool red rose: choosing is hard, so why not have both?
At first, the top is a good boy who doesn't speak up even when he's bullied. Later, he'll pay them back one by one.]
Tang Xi was sent by his parents to the Fu family as a playmate for the young master, Fu Lin.
He didn't talk much, and his gloomy, unlikable personality made others think he'd only gotten to stay by Fu Lin's side because he'd come along at just the right time.
Fu Lin was always cruel to him. His big, powerful hand would pinch the soft flesh of Tang Xi's cheek as he threatened him, only to shove him away in disgust the next moment, as if he'd touched something poisonous.
Even the gifts he gave Tang Xi were things he didn't want.
So Tang Xi was always mocked, toyed with, and kept on the outside.
Everyone else was a playmate. He was, at best, a sidekick.
Tang Xi couldn't understand why Fu Lin still tolerated him staying by his side.
He gradually grew used to the other playmates looking down on him, and to his parents scolding him for not measuring up to his younger brother.
Saint Roberg Academy was a place where the rich were fawned over and the poor were looked down on.
Tang Xi met Wen Hengzhi when a poor but brilliant boy, as lovely as moonlight, was cornered in a shadowy alley. Their eyes met, clear and still as water.
His heart trembled, and he spoke up to help.
The boy thanked him briefly, then walked past him.
Though they wore the same dark black Saint Roberg uniform, the boy seemed utterly pure.
Tang Xi thought the boy must be a wonderful person, the very opposite of himself, whom everyone despised.
Their second meeting wasn't any better.
Wen Hengzhi was locked in a bathroom stall. When Tang Xi opened the door, he found Wen Hengzhi drenched, still wearing that cold, serene expression. His flawless skin was laid bare before Tang Xi's eyes.
This time, Tang Xi followed his heart and called out to him.
"Your clothes are wet. There's a change of clothes in my lounge. Do you want to change?"
That was where their connection began.
He wanted to be friends with Wen Hengzhi for the rest of his life.
Until, on a sweltering summer day, Wen Hengzhi's lips lightly brushed the corner of his mouth. Then Fu Lin saw them, flew into a rage, and everything fell apart.
They were all using him, deceiving him, hurting him, and then saying they loved him. So what was real?
The choice was his, but he didn't want to choose any of them.
