A chemistry lab exploded. When Xun Yun opened her eyes, she had become a baby girl swaddled in blankets.
The good news: Xun Yun had transmigrated as the heiress of the Mojin Xiaowei lineage, an heir on whom the tomb-raiding world placed great hopes. Her name was Jin Xunyun.
The bad news: Old feudal rules dictated that the Mojin Xiaowei title could only pass from father to son. Xun Yun had to disguise herself as a boy and could never let her identity slip!
"Wait!! By all logic, if an archaeology student transmigrates, they should become a tomb robber. But I'm a chemistry nerd who failed chemistry. Shouldn't I have transmigrated into an alchemist? Did I end up in the wrong place?"
Chemistry-challenged Xun Yun had no choice but to disguise herself as a boy and raid tombs.
Deep in the ancient tomb, the passageways were as dark as a prison, with ghostly shadows everywhere.
As Xun Yun felt around for the mechanism that opened the exit, she suddenly heard a rustling sound inside a coffin. Her legs gave out, and she slumped to the floor. "Help! Tomb raiding is even more dangerous than a chemistry experiment!"
"Young Master Jin," "Brother Yun," and "Master" rang out in three men's voices as they rushed toward her, surrounding her tightly.
There was already little oxygen in the tomb, and with these men sharing what little oxygen remained around Xun Yun, she could barely breathe.
She thought to herself, "Help! These weird men around me are scarier than the giant rice dumplings in the coffins!"
1. In the bedchamber of the Prince of Yong's estate, the cold-faced prince gripped Xun Yun's wrist. Their noses were a hair's breadth apart. His Adam's apple bobbed as he asked softly, "Young Master Jin, why do you always avoid me?"
Xun Yun broke out in a cold sweat and thought, "Your Highness, I'm afraid you'll find out I'm a woman."
But she said, "Your Highness, I'm afraid you'll send me digging for 'military provisions' again. The Luoyang shovel (a tomb-raiding tool) has rubbed thick calluses onto my hands. I need to rest for a while."
The prince immediately took Xun Yun's hand and examined it closely as though admiring a treasure. His hand, covered in calluses from martial arts training, gently stroked hers. "A few calluses make a man look the part. But Young Master Jin, your skin is so delicate..."
2. Xun Yun was tomb raiding with her archenemy from the Fa Qiu sect when they passed through a dark grove.
"Brother Yun, let's find a ditch and take a leak together. Let's see whose stream goes farther." Her archenemy raised an arm as if to put it around Xun Yun's shoulder.
Xun Yun dodged to the side, quickly avoiding him. Her cheeks flushed slightly. "I don't need to go yet. You go ahead."
Her archenemy's lips curled into a knowing smile. "We're both men. What are you afraid of?"
3. While fleeing, Xun Yun gave the last two steamed buns she had tucked against her chest to her young apprentice.
The apprentice's huge, sparkling eyes shone as he said sweetly, "Master, you're so good to me!" Tears clung to his lashes.
Xun Yun felt a little comforted and patted the apprentice's head. "Good. Eat up and study hard, so you can inherit my legacy one day."
The apprentice narrowed his eyes, a sinister glint flashing through them. Leaning close to Xun Yun's ear, he breathed sweetly,
"Master, I only want to inherit you."
Xun Yun berated him: "You ungrateful, incestuous wretch, shamelessly flouting all human decency! You would dare covet even your master's... property!!"

[Reader's Guide]
1. Terms: To raise funds for military provisions, Cao Cao established two special official positions: Mojin Xiaowei and Faqiu Zhonglangjiang (Faqiu Tianguan). Their job was to excavate the tombs of ancient emperors and nobles and steal the gold, silver, and treasures inside to fund the military.
2. The story draws on the Book of Changes and metaphysics, as well as multiple tomb-raiding reference books. It contains plenty of horror, suspense, and supernatural elements.
3. A supremely satisfying story about the heroine making a fortune through tomb raiding!
4. The heroine is adored by everyone, so why is there no CP?
Answer: The times won't allow it. You know how it is.
5. If you insist on pairing her with someone: a naturally airheaded, flat-chested miser disguised as a man versus an unnamed ancient corpse (or its grave goods).
6. Content warning: The men fight over the heroine in the middle of a horde of zombies and rice-dumpling corpses. Not for the fainthearted.
7. This story is set against the historical backdrop of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, with a lot of fictional elements. If I've offended anyone, I humbly beg forgiveness.
Premise: Disguised as a man, she raids tombs and proves that women are every bit as capable as men.
