In 2035, a virtual game took the internet by storm.

Its characters had perfect looks, lifelike voices, and smooth, engaging storylines. You could also customize them intelligently and role-play all kinds of scenarios.

You followed the trend and bought one, too.

But unlike everyone else, you had no interest in having a sweet, romantic relationship with the virtual characters. Instead, you were dedicated to being a scumbag so awful that everyone would hate you.

You'd dreamed of being a scumbag since you were a kid. You had the looks and means for it, but didn't want to hurt anyone, so you'd never been in a relationship all these years.

But this wasn't real. They were only virtual characters, and no one would get hurt. So once you started playing, you set up all kinds of characters you liked and did your best to play the part of a scumbag.

[Character One: The Big Brother Who Always Has Your Back] You're the underling he trusts most, but you betray him.

[Character Two: Your Desk Mate Who Has a Crush on You] He's a refined young heir, while you're as lowly as mud. You should never have crossed paths, until one day you discover that he likes you. So you decide to drag him down from the heavens and into the dirt.

[Character Three: Your Devoted Assistant] You paid for his education, and after graduation he chose to stay at your company. You know he has a crush on you, so you start dating him, but soon you get bored.

[Character Four: Your Adoptive Older Brother] He raised you from childhood, but you toy with his feelings for the sake of the family fortune.

[Character Five: The Aloof Master] ...

But one day, you discover that the people you'd treated so cruelly aren't just a bunch of cold, lifeless data.

From the moment you created them, they'd been living, breathing people in another world.

The virtual game is actually a device connecting two worlds. The other world really does develop according to your wishes.

So you really did hurt them, and hurt them badly.

You want to make amends, and do everything you can to reach their world.

Then, just as you'd expect, you find the people who once loved you hurt beyond recognition and living in misery. You want to make things right, but those who once had eyes only for you now feel nothing but disgust and hatred.

They no longer smile at you or depend on you wholeheartedly. All they show you is coldness and rejection.

You regret what you did, but they don't love you anymore.
