On her eighteenth birthday, Liang Xiao became bound to an Evil God Simulator.
The simulator told her that the apocalypse would arrive in three days, and that she was an Evil God.
As long as she completed the assigned missions, she could summon secret identities and accumulate progress, eventually unlocking her true Evil God form.
Liang Xiao cautiously summoned her first secret identity.
White hair, eyes covered, a beautiful face. Before she could even speak, she coughed up a mouthful of blood. She looked every bit like a sickly invalid.
The sickly version of Liang Xiao cautiously stood up. A longbow formed out of thin air in her hand. She instinctively drew it, and the arrow shot straight into the sky, bringing down the sun with a single shot!
Liang Xiao: ?!
How does that make any sense? Am I Hou Yi or what?
She didn't notice the magnificent wings growing behind her. Their black feathers were edged with blazing light that stretched for thousands of miles.
The shadow of a Golden Crow was reflected in her bloodied eyes, revealed when she removed the white bandage.
A line of text appeared on the simulator screen at just the right moment:
The world should tremble, its fear torn apart by your might. [Golden Crow: Progress 1%.]
From then on, Liang Xiao spent her days attending school and doing homework in her real body, while her secret identities entered instances to slay monsters. She worked hard to build up her progress and upgrade her true Evil God form.
The apocalypse was drawing near, and instances began appearing more and more often. Monsters rampaged inside them, wielding devastating power and posing a serious threat to public safety.
Just as the authorities were at their wits' end, a mysterious organization appeared.
No one knew how many members it had, but every member who showed up was unbelievably powerful.
There was the white-clad young man who shot down the S-rank instance boss, the Blazing Tyrant, with a single arrow, and the black-haired youth who single-handedly tore out the heart of an S-rank boss.
They were even more powerful than the monsters, yet seemed to harbor goodwill toward humanity. But the most mysterious of all was an apparently ordinary woman named Liang Xiao.
The authorities investigated from every angle and verified their findings with the utmost care. No matter how they looked at her, she seemed perfectly ordinary. Yet every one of them prostrated themselves before her and respectfully called her, "My Lord."
There was definitely more to this woman than met the eye!
Humanity began to make up its mind.
Liang Xiao was soon surrounded and cared for in every possible way by a delegation of government representatives.
They cautiously tried to ingratiate themselves with her. "May we ask, do you, ah, we mean, our revered Lord, need any more followers? We have 1.3 billion people here, and every last one of us is devout!"
"That's nonsense. How could our Lord possibly be an Evil God? On this Earth, could anyone with 1.3 billion followers really be an Evil God? Who dares say so? Step forward and prove it!"
"It's just a progress bar, right? Leave it to us. We'll fill it up for our Lord!"
Later, the apocalypse arrived. The sky was torn open, and monsters from another world laughed wildly.
Liang Xiao looked at the simulator screen: [Kunpeng: Progress 100%]
The entire world saw a body so vast it could blot out the whole Earth descend before the monsters from another world like a shadow.
At the end of that era, the world murmured the revered name of its Lord.
