* My take on a heavily modified ABO setting. Blunt, puppy-like Omega girl x scheming, calculating Omega. Long-planned pursuit + one-sided crush becomes mutual + enemies become lovers.

Blurb:
"I see through other people's pretenses, but I see her true heart."
.
When Shan Qiyun was eighteen, her family went bankrupt, her mother died, and her older sister disappeared.
She fell from the clouds, going from a pampered young lady admired by all to the most unusual scholarship student at an elite academy.
In her darkest hour, the academy gave her shelter.
But without her family's protection, harassment and contempt came at her from every direction.
When she had nowhere else to turn, the person who offered her a helping hand was someone Shan Qiyun had never expected: her rival, Jia Zhuyue.
An Omega like Jia Zhuyue was beautiful and refined, born into a prominent family with a silver spoon in her mouth, destined to have everything others could only envy.
Shan Qiyun should have been just like her, standing at the top of the pyramid and basking in everyone's affection.
Unfortunately, fate doesn't care about what "should have been" or what "could have been."
Shan Qiyun thought that once she left the academy, there would be no turning back, and she would keep falling until she hit rock bottom. She would never have another chance to see the nobles she'd known, including her rival.
And yet, on a drizzly street, the person holding an umbrella over her and shielding her from the rain was none other than the Jia Zhuyue she despised.
The fingers she held out were long and slender, fair-skinned with faintly pink tips. A card was pinched between them as she offered it to Shan Qiyun.
It was a little cold, so Shan Qiyun tucked her hands into her too-short sleeves. Her gaze drifted to a lively restaurant in the distance, and she tossed out a casual joke: "Well, look who it is. Here to keep me? I'm expensive, you know."
Jia Zhuyue's other hand tightened around the umbrella handle. Her beautiful green eyes held an unreadable expression.
"Yes, I know."
For a moment, Shan Qiyun thought she looked sad.
Later, beside a fireplace where the flames danced on and on, a hand took the book from Shan Qiyun's hands.
The emerald-jewel eyes that belonged to Jia Zhuyue were no longer calm and indifferent. They were filled with a startling intensity of desire and longing.
Her former rival lifted Shan Qiyun's chin. A warm, lingering kiss traveled from her forehead to her lips.
The kiss left Shan Qiyun short of breath. She finally managed to push Jia Zhuyue's face away and gulped down fresh air.
Jia Zhuyue buried her face against Shan Qiyun's neck and whispered something.
"You are not allowed to leave me."
"Absolutely not."
Shan Qiyun didn't hear her clearly. "What?"
Jia Zhuyue lifted her head and watched her quietly for a while. "Nothing. I was just saying..."
"I love you."
"I have for a long time."
[P.S. All the main characters are adults. There are no illegal financial transactions.
The first line of the blurb, "I see through other people's pretenses, but I see her true heart," is adapted from Shakespeare's Sonnet 32, "I read their works, and read his heart."
I drew some of the illustrations myself. If I make something I'm happier with later, I'll replace them, so the current illustrations are mostly placeholders. I drew the cover too.]
Coming Soon: How an Average Girl Became Everyone's Favorite
Qiu Miyu thinks she's terribly unlucky. Her whole family is reasonably good-looking, yet somehow she turned out a complete eyesore.
Other people's childhoods are filled with laughter. Hers is filled with cruel background noise: "ugly girl," "fatso," "trash," "disgusting," "pig face," and more.
She once cried and asked her mother, "Am I really that ugly?"
Her mother cried too, hugging her and saying, "Our Xiaoyu is adorable. You're not ugly at all!"
Qiu Miyu wasn't sure she believed her, but then her mother arranged for her to transfer schools. Sure enough, hardly anyone at the new school insulted her.
But no one wanted to be her friend, either.
In her lonely school life, Qiu Miyu gradually realized that she was an ordinary girl, more ordinary than ordinary... though perhaps she couldn't even be called ordinary, since she was also very ugly.
At that age, though, other people's cruelty cuts even deeper. Being ignored would have been bad enough... but her appearance brought her plenty of malice throughout her youth.
She forced herself to endure it until graduation so that her family wouldn't be sad or worried. Then she did some research online and finally applied to a girls' school far away.
Perhaps she could start a new life there.

Qiu Miyu thinks she's lucky. Everyone at her new school is friendly, and no one attacks her appearance. Just to be safe, she learned how to do makeup. She isn't exactly beautiful, but at least she looks much more presentable.
The first friends she made were her roommates. They were dazzling, radiant goddesses, completely unlike Qiu Miyu.
Goddess No. 1: A sharp-tongued, sweet-faced schemer and pampered young lady. She became Qiu Miyu's second friend in the dorm.
Goddess No. 2: Gentle and friendly, a model with a modest following online. She was the first person to befriend Qiu Miyu.
Goddess No. 3: Cold as ice, a recommended-admission student who spent all her time in the lab and library. She was the last in the dorm to become Qiu Miyu's friend.
Then there's Goddess No. 4, a younger student in the preparatory program: warm and straightforward, she's tremendously interested in Qiu Miyu and keeps pestering her to be friends.
They are the kind of people Qiu Miyu longs to become. Their looks, family backgrounds, and achievements are the girlish dreams she hides away in her heart.
But Qiu Miyu knows she can never become them.
Qiu Miyu has never understood why they accepted her, and she doesn't dare ask.
Until one stormy night, when the power went out and someone came to her bedside.
Only her roommates could come near her at a time like this. Qiu Miyu had learned to play pranks on friends, so she waited to scare the person.
A clap of thunder shook the air, and a kiss landed on Qiu Miyu's cheek.
By the time Qiu Miyu opened her eyes, the other person had already left. Her roommates had all gathered by the window, with wind and rain pouring into the room. Laughing, they invited Qiu Miyu to join them.
The rain felt cool. In the light spilling in from the hallway, Qiu Miyu studied the expressions of the young lady, the model, and the recommended-admission student.
Every one of them was a suspect, yet every one of them seemed completely innocent.
But one of them had definitely kissed her.
Who could it have been?
