A Day in the Life of an Ordinary Villager

(Updated irregularly, but guaranteed to be completed. Note from 2025.6.3. Please add it to your collection! Still set in a fictional world!)

Recently, Fubai Village is about to launch a new project.

The countryside needs revitalizing, and revitalization requires exposure. A rural variety show is being planned, with invitees coming from all over.

Those assigned the role of ordinary villagers have anything but ordinary jobs.

They have to give the guests directions, take their photos, help cook by tending the fire, solve problems in the fields, drive them to the market, buy local produce, and, most importantly, solve their relationship problems.

Meng Lengyu was drawn to that last task. Skipping all the others, they immediately accepted the role of an "ordinary villager."

On a variety show, the most screen time usually means you're about to become the next star. But when the show aired, Meng Lengyu was filled with nothing but sorrow: every shot showed them as a third wheel!

Meng Lengyu: Forget work for now. I want to gossip first.
