After their high school reunion, someone brought up relationships, and the group started debating whether it was better to be single or in a relationship these days.

Zhou Shaoze said nothing, standing by his car and smoking, every inch the smug lifelong bachelor.

His friends mocked him for putting on an act. "You've played the chaste moralist for years, but don't think I don't know. If the person you like so much as looks at you, you'd turn into a dog and pounce!"

Zhou Shaoze sneered. "Get lost. There's no one I like. Whoever gets into a relationship first is a dog."

Just then, someone tapped him on the shoulder.

Zhou Shaoze turned around. Ying Fuwan had appeared behind him at some point. His porcelain-white neck was covered in hickeys Zhou Shaoze had left in a fit of passion the night before, and he was looking at him quietly.

The people around them stole discreet glances.

Zhou Shaoze froze. After a long moment, he stubbed out his cigarette and called softly, "...Brother."
