Fang Huixue had a very smooth life.
He was born the beloved young master of the Fang family, whose patriarch was the Prime Minister of the capital. His family was immensely wealthy, and he was fair-skinned and beautiful. When he attended the immortal sect selection, they discovered his exceptional cultivation talent, and the elders of several major sects fought to take him as their disciple.
Fang Huixue looked over the several immortal lords before him.
A few seconds later, he walked up to the one in the corner who wasn't competing for him and asked, "May I ask how many disciples you have, Immortal Lord? Would you accept Huixue as your disciple?"
The master, who had wanted to take him as a disciple but stayed silent because he couldn't outargue the others, was conquered.
Cultivation begins with cultivating the mind.
The beds were too hard, and the food was poor. Fang Huixue had been spoiled at home and couldn't bear such hardship.
He found his eldest senior brother and took out the money he'd secretly hidden on himself. "Senior Brother, I can't go down the mountain. Could you use this money to buy me a few sets of bedding down there? You can keep whatever's left as a little something for your trouble."
His eldest senior brother, whose mother had fallen ill and who urgently needed money for medicine, was conquered.
One day, his master told Fang Huixue to go check on a junior disciple who was being punished.
He brought a plate of pastries to the junior disciple's room. Seeing the injury on his hand, he fed him each pastry himself. "Don't be sad, Junior Brother. Master is always fair with rewards and punishments. He punished you, but he cares about you too. Don't be naughty again."
The junior disciple, who loved peach blossom pastries and rarely received anyone's affection, was conquered.

Later, the four of them gathered at a banquet.
The eldest senior brother praised their master with faint damning, implying that he was old.
The junior disciple made sarcastic remarks, indirectly mocking the eldest senior brother's poor background.
The master took on both of them at once, bluntly pointing out that the world was in turmoil and their cultivation was too weak to protect Fang Huixue.
Fang Huixue, at the center of all the gossip: This food isn't good. It's not as tasty as what our cook makes at home. (Munch, munch.) I miss my parents so much. When can I go home? (Munch, munch.)
-
One day, the four of them went down the mountain together to exterminate demons.
Fang Huixue was starving after a full day on the road. As the three people at his table chatted back and forth, he silently reviewed the food at the inn.
Suddenly, the waiter nudged his arm, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Young Immortal, is your sect always this full of open and covert rivalry?"
Fang Huixue: "?"
He glanced at the three happily chatting people and shook his head. "Of course not. Everyone in our sect gets along really well."
The other three: "..."
Reader advisory: Please check the warnings for yourself.
1. Everyone is chaste. Each of the three tops has a separate happy-ending extra with the bottom.
2. The tops' plot prominence isn't guaranteed to be equal. Fang Huixue is the only protagonist.
3. [Do not ship any pairings between the three tops that don't include the bottom.]
4. The story includes the very clichéd trope of the protagonist saving the world.
5. The author is illiterate. Writing historical danmei is asking for humiliation. This is a writing exercise, and I won't accept any kind of writing advice.
Note: When the eldest senior brother says their master is old, he means he's over two hundred.
The main story may differ slightly from the blurb. The main story takes precedence.
Theme: Unity is strength.
